There are so many people taking the severance pay or finding other jobs and leaving. We are already stretched thin and losing more people before the layoffs have even started.
Anyone know which offices reporting to in Jan?
If we survive the layoffs end of October has anyone heard any intel as to where they will put us all in existing LA or NY offices?
Remember your layoff is not your fault
Be Kind to yourselves, layoffs are not a business decision, but a failure of executive leadership. You all are awesome, stay that way!
I took severance pay
God knows when the dust will actually settle, or what things will look like once it does. To those staying, I wish you the best of luck. Just make sure you’re always keeping an eye out for other opportunities. Be kind to yourself—and put yourself... — read more
Last day for opt in?
If you opted in to the severance package - Have you been given an official last day? there’s been radio silence.
Are Leads in technical positions that don't know how to code be fired?
Lots of full time employees that are Leads don't know how to code, only thing they know is to take credit from the work the contractors do.
Another round in March?
Do we think there will be another layoff round in March to line up with the RTO phase 2s? I’ve heard could be two rounds and lots and lot of restructuring. Anyone heard the same?
Hiring?
My department is hiring. I believe they already found the candidate. Hopefully that’s a good sign for my department
Does anyone know If BET will remain separate from Paramount as it is now or will it be merged in with BET staff getting laid off? .
I keep seeing that Ellison has pledged to keep and invest in brands like BET.
Managers know your fate
Managers are aware of who will be impacted in Oct/Nov. HR has the lists already. Does anyone know if the names are set in stone?
Target cost savings $2 billions
Is that per year or over several years? Because if the target is saving 2B from laying off, the math doesn’t seem to jive. Lets say avg employees salary+benefits etc is $300k/yr/person, which is a reasonably high est for avg, laying off 3k will only... — read more
We need more VPs gone
Honestly we will never get to the 2 billion number by laying off a bunch of low level employees barely making 6 figures. I see a few big names leaving but hardly enough. We all know we are top heavy. Discouraging not many more have been announced.
Layoff date
Any more insight into whether D-day will be 10/28 or 11/11?
Pam Kaufman's heading toward the exit
She posted this on LinkedIn today; guessing she also sent it to her teams? +++++++++++++++++++ After much thought and reflection, I have made the difficult decision to leave Paramount. We have had an extraordinary journey and the immense... — read more
Mid-year check-ins
How did it go for everyone? Haven’t had mine yet and kinda nervous.
What's happening with cuts?
Is anything happening today?
Anyone have faith in department leadership in pleading the case to executives?
During a couple of these department specific office hours talks, apparently some of the department heads are pushing back a bit on the 5 day RTO (among other things). Anyone think this is going to lead to anything?
International offices
Wondering if anyone has any insight into the process of international layoffs? Would each HR dept be given a budget/number of people to let go? Or would decisions already be made from up top in the US on departments to lay off etc?
Anyone else looking for a new job?
In preparation for layoffs is anyone searching elsewhere? How are you finding it? If not, why aren't you looking?
I wish there was a better place as an alternative
What really gets me is that the entire f*g industry is in shambles. Everyone is laying off, restructuring, and slashing costs. In times like this, taking the voluntary option feels risky, and getting cut is even worse, because where are you... — read more
New WARN notices posted on 9/18?

Explain this to me
Let’s say that you are a Phase 2 employee who gets blindsided jn November and laid off. Do you get severence as well? Or just nothing, but the ability to collect unemployment. Seems kind of unfair to not allow an early option to quit and take... — read more
I’m a bit worried as a remote hire
From what I’m hearing, there will be no exceptions for people who were originally hired as remote. I simply can’t commute or work in the office for a variety of reasons - location and disability among them. That’s exactly why I sought a remote role... — read more
Sharing my concerns
It seems that nobody knows anything except maybe a handful of EVPs and higher. In meetings, mgmt and HR reps can't offer any new information, just repeating the same known facts over and over again. Morale is at all time low and feels like people... — read more
Remote Employees
What is the latest everyone is hearing about remote employees? Will they be part of upcoming layoffs or part of Phase 2? I’m still hearing no exceptions for any department will be made even if you were hired as fully remote ( I.e. IT, Sales, etc)...
Org Chart Update
Has anyone noticed the org chart has been updated? Tells me a few things after poking around. 1) if you have duplicative roles when checking out leadership and comparing teams 2) what your team may fall into (studios/tv media) It’s probably not... — read more
Seems to be quite a number of opt-outs
At the very least, it shows that few people have any confidence in what’s ahead, from how the layoffs will be handled and RTO forced through, to what things will look like once the dust settles. I’m really curious what the final total of opt-outs... — read more

Too many changes

Another exec out
Marc Weinstock for the film marketing department is out. Thoughts on what happens to the teams under this division?
Way more people took the offer than I thought
Based on my team and what I’ve heard so far it feels like half the people I work with took the opt out. Lot of big hitters and people who have been around a while. And they’re only the ones I know about. Wondering if this is similar across the... — read more
The opt outs?
How long will it be before we know how many have opted out of the crazy and taken the severance package? And then how long before we know how many more will need to be laid off to fulfill the goal set?
I decided to leave
I opted in. More spur of the moment than some grand plan. I’ve been tired of what this place has been turning into for a long time, and I wasn’t about to stick around for the ringer that’s coming. Sure, I’m worried about what’s out there, but I’ve... — read more
