Simple curiosity: obviously Nike (or any other company) can’t pick a specific day where no one is out, so what happens/happened to those who are/were on PTO when the whole thing went down?

Nike let us keep our phones when we got laid off. I tried to wipe it today and was met with it still be registered as part of Nike's mobile device management. Does anyone know if this is intentional or the best way to ask Nike to remove it?
