I have heard of a lot of crime in the Buckhead Lenox area near the office.

Senator Bernie Sanders targeted a Jacksonville maritime company. He accused the firm of illegal union-busting. Sanders also cited unsafe work conditions. A worker death reportedly occurred there. The company also conducted recent layoffs.

Happened on Saturday 06/13/2026.

At approximately 1:11 PM today, a Greenville Police Officer stationed at Haywood Mall heard what sounded like g-nshots coming from the plaza located between Macy's and Belk. The officer quickly moved to the area and found a female with a g-nshot wound to her foot. The officer then proceeded to Belk, where he discovered a male with a g-nshot wound to the shoulder/neck area. He relayed information to responding officers and was able to provide descriptions of the suspects who fled the scene.

The incident appears to have been isolated and began when two groups of individuals, who knew each other, got into a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire. The female victim with the foot injury was a bystander and not involved in the dispute. Both victims are in stable condition.

One of the individuals who fired a we-pon has been arrested; he is 17 years old. Detectives are still working to identify the other individuals who discharged firearms.

Ford is telling 4,653 Bronco Sport and Maverick owners to stop driving their vehicles immediately. The truck and SUV might have front lower control arm ball joints that were not assembled correctly. If they fail while the vehicle is being driven, drivers could lose steering control. This significantly increases the risk of a crash.

The recall impacts 2021 to 2026 models and Ford is advising owners to check online to see if their vehicle is included in the campaign. If it is, the vehicle will be towed to a dealership for inspection and repair. Some customers will also have the option of having their vehicle inspected at home via mobile service technicians.

The recall hasn’t been posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yet, so details are limited. However, the automaker said “dealers will visually inspect the front lower control arm ball joint assembly on both the left and right sides, and repair, as necessary at no cost to the customer.”

It sounds like the automaker doesn’t have a fix at the moment as they noted repairs will be made at a “future date.” Ford also said “rentals are available at no cost” to owners of vehicles that fail the inspection.

BNY keeps pushing RTO 4 days/week and open‑desk seating like nothing in the world has changed, while employees are left wondering whether leadership has even skimmed the latest CDC guidance on workplace exposure risks. The CDC may not mandate hantavirus controls, but it’s clear about best practices: identify and control rodent presence, seal workspaces, improve ventilation, use PPE when needed, and restrict work for exposed or symptomatic employees. OSHA’s general duty clause still applies — employers must provide a workplace free from recognized hazards. Rodent‑borne pathogens qualify.

Many employees in the Jersey City office in particular have reported concerns on this forum regarding concerns of rat infestation and control.

So here’s the question employees keep asking: Will BNY communicate anything at all? Will they adjust RTO, restrict open‑desk seating, or even acknowledge that shared workspaces increase exposure risks? Or will they continue the pattern — silence, spin, and “business as usual” — while employees shoulder the health risks?

With the recent cruise ship outbreak and the 2025 death of actor Gene Hackman's wife and dog, people are concerned and fearful, especially given current RTO policies.

BNY has a stewardship responsibility, not just a shareholder one. If state or local OSHA programs tighten requirements, the bank won’t be able to hide behind “CDC guidance is voluntary.” And even now, nothing stops BNY from adopting the CDC’s recommendations as a basic duty of care.

I don’t think that’s what they’re doing. I actually suspect that they are working on a sinkhole issue. I won’t park in that garage.. the campus has had sinkhole concerns for decades - and now the aquifer is dangerously low, so no thanks!

The CTA is implementing a new security strategy for its transit system. The agency recently laid off 159 contracted security guards. These guards were employed through Monterrey Security. Perdue Foods will dismantle its Cofield feed mill. This follows a February 21 explosion that shut down operations. Fifteen feed mill employees will be terminated on April 19.
