So tired of this cr-p

I remember when this place actually felt good to be at, but that was before a certain (leaving this vague for a reason) group got hired in one big batch and shifted the whole dynamic. They built their own little group, pushed out the old guard, and now it is all gossip and maneuvering instead of just getting things done. I have been here around seventeen years and at this point I just want to do my job and go home without worrying about who is talking about who or what game is being played next.

This is interesting

I’m slaving away working my four carts. Trying to get it all put out fast so me CPH will be high and I won’t go over me time….IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Sweat rolling off my face.
Then I see this ONE cart that three Walmart people are working on… they each pick up one case at a time walk down the aisle where it goes they come back and they chat, giggle take a few minutes. Take a few more minutes. They’re having a good ole time.
I’m thinking WHAT!!.. In my brain. Guess I took a moment too (Giggle)
Sweat still rolling down me face as I have to get back on the hamster wheel.
Just thought I would share that.

Is your store like this too ???

Our store manager has her favorite minions
Calling them “sweetie”, “baby” “honey” and talking to them like they are her own children——-weird

Store H.R. literally drinks coffee all day, every day. And gossips with her clique.
When someone who is not in the clique walks near them, it suddenly gets quiet.

Support team is a clique. Same thing when you get closer to them in the hallway or office it suddenly gets quiet

Store manager MAYBE working 35 hours a week, and usually closer to 33, 9-4 Monday to Friday, lots of PTO and time off.

HR works 7-2, or 8-3, and never works Saturday or Sunday. Never.Gives little to no information or help, never correctes missing punch, delayed in responding to schedule changes or issues

D&H & Ingram have us on Credit Hold...

Looks like FHE isn't paying the bills again! Unfulfilled orders are piling up, haven't seen any D&H or Ingram Micro orders in weeks. Rumors abound on Slack about cashflow issues again, but of course OTC is tight-lipped, pretending there's no issue, while the boots on the ground have to deal with the pi---d-off institutional customers. May be time to desert the sinking ship....

Here we go…. End of quarter NOS bs

And this is why one of the reasons they won’t end DSD. Because at the end of every month they can pump in a lot of nonsense on all these orders, as with warehouse they’re not going to be able to do that. So now we’ll be back to pallet and backstock in a bunch of random things that we don’t need that the company is going to say we don’t want the stores to run out so it’s for their benefit same stupid sh-t over and over again.

Snack-gate: What Actually Happened?

TP&E gets assigned offices and, apparently, the refrigerated snacks vanish at the same time.

Honestly, I'd take a dedicated office over free snacks every day of the week, so this isn't really about the snacks. I'm just amused by how often we hear about transparency and then find out about changes after the fact.

I'm also curious how much the snack program was actually costing. It seems hard to believe refrigerated snacks were breaking the budget, especially in a year when the company is likely doing quite well. Maybe there's context I'm missing.

Work feels

I don’t want to do any work, clearly why should we work when Sarah doesn’t give a damn about anyone but greedy self.
Sarah is a character she talks about the struggles of her mother and what she did for her on LinkedIn for Mother’s Day. Than she does this. Come on do better and stop being fake.

Cubicle seating and general badge access

Lots of talk on this message board. There's an internal article from a few days ago that says cubicle seating will be reintroduced and general badge access for hub markets.

Can someone who knows actual details elaborate? Will people be able to visit other offices in their hub?

Congratulations Complainers!

We're getting assigned seating

Of all the items that have been raised about how to make employees' lives easier, THIS is the one the MC has chosen to listen to

Not cleanliness or safety in the hubs.

Not RTO.

Not time tracking.

Not pay or benefits.

Seating.

Why? Because it will give the MC a convenient 'justification' for sending us back to the office full time. They do nothing for our benefit, only their own.

Great job. Hope you're all thrilled. Your butts can now avoid having to deal with that pesky reservation system! Our problems are solved at last!

Self Promotion Week

This week must be post self-indulgent posts on LinkedIn on how great I am as a leader week.

Honestly, it’s so cheesy and desperate and why would you want to tell your competition what your doing.

I would ban employees from these self-indulgent posts; customers see right thru it anyhow. Comes across as don’t fire me please or hire me please to outsiders.

I’m learning that work isn’t just about work

I used to think that if I kept my head down and did solid work, that’d be enough to move forward. After a few years here, I’m not so sure. The people getting promoted aren’t always the most capable, but they’re usually the ones who know exactly who to compliment and when to be visible.

I’ve never been comfortable pretending to admire every decision from leadership or joining every little workplace circle. I’m polite, I help my team, and I meet my goals, but that doesn’t seem to stand out much.

It’s made me rethink how success works in some orgs. Skill matters, but being liked by the right people can matter even more. I don’t want to become fake just to get ahead, but I’m starting to see why some people do.

Why RTO truly su-ks

Office politics are so much worse when you have to navigate them in person. From micromanaging to bullying to being put in the middle of arguments... It drains people in a way that's much, much worse than just hearing about it or dealing with it from a distance. I'd take a pay cut to avoid it.

I haven't had a boss in years

I report to someone, but after they flattened the hierarchy and got rid of all the middle managers I ended up reporting directly to the director in my org.

He's not interested in or capable of leading a team. I never see him except during our monthly 1:1 (which is basically just a monthly recap so he can tell his boss what I do).

There's no leadership here at 3M anymore. Just a bunch of disinterested, self-important jagoffs having meetings because they didn't know what else to do. And nobody can get promoted, so it's never to change.
