North Star to lay off 100+ employees
A North Country health care system is preparing to lay off more than 100 employees.
North Star Health Alliance made the announcement Monday afternoon.
The layoffs include management, clinical, and non-clinical employees.

There is not a plan, there never was, except to milk the cow dry. Layoffs were announced about 3 months ago
and we are still 2 weeks out from Dan's plan? Guessing the leadership team was told by the CEO to figure out how to do it with 15k less people (and maybe even 30k less people if the latest reports are true) and let him know the plan by the end of January so he could take credit for it in early February.

Wealth and brokerage cuts
Heard this morning that a lot of scrum masters were set free with immediate effect (contractors).
Some are given time to find new role within fidelity till end of March.
Any other BU getting impacted?
RF - HQ/Region/Market
Hearing multiple people cut across the nation.
Whats your count?
Are there any layoffs going on
Heard that some restructure happening in some teams, are there layoffs expected?
WARN NOTICE - NEW YORK
Which website do individuals typically consult to monitor WARN notices? I navigated to what I understood to be the official portal — https://dol.ny.gov/warn-dashboard — but I do not observe the most recent RA event from November reflected in the listings.
Severance 2026
Severance for 2026 has anyone heard any changes to the current plan?
Exit gates are up again today in Bellevue (Jan 20)
May the odds be forever in your favor...
Subtle (and nonsubtle) disengagement
Its been interesting to see the small and not-so-small ways that people have been tuning out since Charlie Scharf took the helm and the never-ending march of layoffs started. From small shifts in attitude and lowered enthusiasm, to slow walking projects, all the way up to people drawing hard boundaries on their time, and what their teams have the resources to deliver. I can't remember the last time I talked to someone who was enthusiastic about being here, or actively trying to make things better.
Resignation no notice
Has quitting without notice at Truist become the new normal? In my group, several people have recently left the same day they resigned—no two-week notice, no transition period. That used to be the standard, but it seems like a lot of folks here are walking out on the spot. Is anyone else seeing this happen?
How are the G-B Stores doing?
Have the stores been getting non stop deliveries of pallets of merchandise to sell off along with its currently own goods? Positions starting to open up at nearby locations to help colleagues who want to stay with the company? I know fixture sales will probably start beginning in Febuary. Hope everyone is doing OK. Closing a location can be fun.
AI isn't bringing in more money or growing SAP in any way
AI a solution in desperate search of a problem.
Our customers have treated it as a toy, but won't pay additionally for it.
SAP's AI-focused plan is ignoring the demands of core SAP customers and they will move to start-ups or better solutions offered by competitors.
SAP's executive board and HR only want AI because it helps lay off SAP employees and reduce wages where possible.
We need a two-pronged approach, aimed at growing AI relevancy but also growing the core business and delivering the product features our customers are asking for.
This means we need all hands on deck and more employees not layoffs.
Can anyone here help me understand why this isn't SAP's current plan?
Corporate Layoffs
Any announcements? What is the severance like if let go?
Bottom 10 be ready
Big wave coming after annual review, no matter what’s your rating or where you are
Does anyone know anything about the new company branding or logo?
Yesterday in Poland, the company was giving away old branded swag, furniture with company colors, and even coat hangers. It made me wonder whether this is connected to an upcoming rebrand.
At the same time, it feels a bit strange - even wasteful - considering how weak the company’s situation currently is, especially when our VCP bonus won’t even be paid out in full.
Curious if others have heard anything or have thoughts on this.
How Do Layoffs Work here?
I'm newer to OI... how do they typically let people know that they have been laid off? Is it a last minute meeting? Do you get an meeting invite at the beginning of the day? Are you told individually or is it in groups? Is it your manager sharing the news or is it typically HR? Like all of us- I am nervous!
Company incompetent or blissfully ignorant?
At this point it’s been 1 week since rest of VSPs left. Company is complete disarray. Comments on CF social media posts show members frustration and lack of any response from CF. How has this mess not made it to at a minimum WBAL? CF leaders have sc--wed the employees and the downstream is a place members lack any confidence in. If bonuses go away, only offshore support will exist, and we all know they care about the income not the fix. Any word when reviews come out or what bonuses are looking like?
BVS - Does anyone know anything about BVS?
Anything about BVS (consumer) being affected today or any time soon? Coaches are walking around whispering, apparently they all have 15 mins meetings today. I do not have any calendar invites myself.
Work toward the go F’ yourself goal.
No matter where you work, you should work toward accumulating a financial base to where you can tell anyone that they can go “F’ yourself”. This takes time, a lifetime in some cases but it can be done.
Don’t spend your raises or bonus’s and funnel your extra money into investments. On raises and bonus’s, put about 10% of that aside to reward yourself but be as frugal as you can be. Now Citi does not make this easy as they are extremely lacking in rewards for a job well done but still this is an achievable goal. Work toward a 1 month pay in liquid cash, then 3 months. Put this amount in a CD at a fixed interest rate. Then work toward 6 months, put this into a CD. Then 9 months, same thing, then a full year same thing. Again this takes time. Once done though, as they mature, you’ll be faced with a decision to cash them in or roll them over. Stagger each CD purchase to where they don’t all mature at once. I get it, I really do. This is not a quick fix, its not a fast turn around and you have to spend money to live. It’s a choice though that’s worth the sacrifice. Max out your 401K always.
Resist the urge to have the latest and greatest Iphone, entertainment center, PC, car….etc. … Work hard toward wealth, not money. Build enough wealth to where you don’t care what Citi does. Enough cash reserves to where if you get let go, its of no significance to your life.
If this is so great and fail safe why am I still working at Citi, you may be thinking. I have a good gig. I’m happy and I get paid. Should Citi ever deem my employment no longer needed, that’s ok too. Should Citi ever do or mandate something that I don’t care for, no issue there, I’ll just walk. Simple as that.
I admit, its not always been that way but like I said, this takes a tremendous amount of time and its exponentially harder to do if you have kids but this is what Citi hinges on. They rely on your desperation, your continued need to have to have this job. The more desperate you are, the more you can be abused and strong armed to work crazy hours with the implied “or else” that’s aways preached. They are masters at telling you several things to enforce this. Key phrases such as “its a bad job market out there” , “better the devil you know”, “other banks operate just like this” and on and on. At times all of this is true, at times only some of it and at times none of it is true.
There are other job sectors to look into you know. Citi would have you believe that this is the only place you can ever work and this is the only place that would ever employ you. It’ll do you no good to ever look anywhere else for a job, this is as good as its ever going to get in your life. This is just not true so don’t buy into it.
Work hard, invest what you can, invest in yourself as well (skillset), be patient, network outside of Citi, take care of your heath and work toward the goal of having enough money to where you walk away anytime you want to.

Comment your org when you get the axe (not the email/meeting invite) - let’s keep track here so we know the extent of the damage.
Steel tariffs impact St. Louis jobs
U.S. steel tariffs enacted in 2018 under Section 232 are putting mounting pressure on manufacturers in St. Louis, with growing consequences for local jobs and the community. More than 1,000 pieces of equipment from a major north St. Louis manufacturing site are being sent to auction, a move that signals reduced operations and deepening uncertainty for workers in the area.
While the tariffs were intended to protect American steel producers, higher steel prices have squeezed local fabricators, forcing companies to cut back, sell assets, and rethink their presence in the region. Community leaders warn that continued cost pressures could further erode manufacturing employment in one of St. Louis’s key industrial corridors.

6 Months of New Org
6 months into this new org and people still don’t know who is doing what. Continue pushing jobs to engine and watching it fall apart. Leadership silent on the disfunction of it all. I sure hope the current administration f*cake chevron hard on tax and penalties for all the outsourcing. Seeing employees leave for Exxon is wild. Use to be the other way around.
I am not moving to Plano and being in
My early 50s don't have much of a chance to start up again somewhere else. Time to stock market casino time and roll the dice with what I have built up. Do or die time.
UK Workers Sue TikTok Over Alleged Union Busting
Former TikTok content moderators in the UK are suing the company. They allege TikTok engaged in union busting tactics. Layoffs reportedly occurred just before a scheduled union vote. TikTok denies these claims, citing AI-driven restructuring for efficiency. The lawsuit highlights tensions over tech worker protections and automation.

North Star Health Alliance Plans Management Layoffs in New York
North Star Health Alliance announced plans to eliminate about 120 positions in New York, with management roles most affected. The layoffs follow the loss of state funding in December after New York officials said the organization failed to provide sufficient spending details.
North Star disputes the claim, saying it has been transparent and is seeking continued state support. The job cuts will also affect some clinical and non-clinical staff.
Tyson Foods Cuts - Impacts Beef Industry

When I announcement
If 5 days are coming in. When will it be communicated
Multiple Orgs getting Emails
It’s happening as many people projected tomorrow AM and probably Wednesday also. Stop asking what organization and for all the details. People are sharing what they can without exposing themselves. Bottom line is a lot of us are receiving emails for meetings. We’re sharing what we know. But the cuts are continuing. The layoffs are happening in waves based on your leadership and org and it’s not over.
RNEO North Layoffs this week?
Heard 20%-30% cut this week to newly merged North Area for Network Ops/Eng. Can someone confirm????
When did the scrum master layoff talk start?
Got laid off as a software engineer in 2024. Found a good life after fidelity.
Just wondering where all the talk about scrum masters getting laid off came from. I heard the Spotify agile model is getting done away with (not just because of the last post).
But how much of that talk is actual truth? If true, then what’s the percentage of scrum masters at fidelity that we are expecting to get laid off?
BlackRock Will Pay the Price!
BlackRock must be held accountable for its recent layoffs of American workers while retaining H-1B employees in similar roles.
These decisions raise serious concerns about whether BlackRock is abusing the H-1B program—by laying off qualified U.S. workers instead of redeploying them internally, while continuing to sponsor visa workers for comparable positions. This directly undermines the purpose of the H-1B system, which is meant to fill genuine skill gaps, not displace American employees.
As a result, multiple complaints have already been filed with various government authorities, calling for investigations into BlackRock’s labor practices and H-1B sponsorship legitimacy. Regulators must closely examine whether these layoffs violate federal labor and immigration rules.
American workers deserve protection. BlackRock misused the H-1B program while cutting U.S. jobs, it should face consequences.
I’m super excited!
I’ve been waiting a very long time for this. Deliverance may have finally arrived. Time to start a new life. Good luck to same!
