It's a ghost town on 19. They laid off the entire Marcomms team yesterday from the CMO, executive directors, social, literally everyone in GHQ and Serbia!!! This was huge because it wasn't just a few people but more like 70 or so. This seemed really personal or just fed up with a few people and decided to make the rest suffer as a message.

It's unfortunate that business leaders (as well as his own boss RB) cannot go into ADO and read the ridiculous types of features and stories that IT employees are being forced to put into ADO. A fine tool for developers has been ba----dized into an overwhelming complicated task list, with the CIO having prioritized data quality in ADO as his top item to deliver. There are literally hundreds of thousands of entries, each entry with the expectation of having completeness, with scrum masters and RTEs writing up stories that effectively means "schedule a meeting with stakeholders xyz" with a value of 10 because they had to fill in all these ridiculous fields.
How can RB be OK with this? An entire IT department wasting their lives away..

Benefits - Make all medical, dental, eye doctor appointments and refill all prescriptions ASAP. I called my doctor to tell them I was laid off and they called in extra refills for me. Anything you have been putting off, get done now. I had a couple procedures I'd been postponing due to work.
If you have the Vision insurance, it starts fresh every January - it does not matter if you got new glasses in December. I got new sunglasses I desperately needed and my kid got a new pair of regular glasses.

Ortho layoffs
Due to restructuring in Ortho, aka giving all the jobs over seas to Costa Rica, all the TX design team, clinical advisors, DC and FMQC, US based employees, are being laid off effective in March. Hard to say official numbers but it's upwards of 40 people. Many were here since clarity alligners started nearly 10 years ago. Pretty sc-mmy way to save a few bucks the day after they announced 1 Billion dollars for stock buy back.

Laid Off Before It Was Cool

Not a LinkedIn message. Not a text. Not even a line in response to your goodbye email, assuming you were granted the dignity of sending one before your access disappeared. At this point I find myself surprisingly hoping to be on this je list, and wonder how many others have gotten here? I wasn’t feeling this way and know it’s a bad market apparently but some severance and time to pull myself out of the anxiety I now live in daily and sounds actually like the better option. Worried about further decline after more loss if I am still here, certainly not going to get better any time soon and will just mean more work for the rest of us, at the end of the day I don’t get an email I think I’ll have more envy than survivors guilt. Sad it’s gotten here used to love my job my company.
