We have power in numbers! Do your part

I understand concerns around speaking out and facing retaliation but think about this like utilizing your right to vote. If you don’t use your voice then you lose it!
There’s nothing stopping PNC from including you in layoffs whether you use your voice or not - and let’s be honest, it’s coming. Just be smart & respectful about it…

Times are changing. Don’t let yourself be just another number.

Call to avoid layoffs at Tufts

Concerned Tufts staff members have distributed a petition in conjunction with Tufts Labor Coalition demanding that no workers be laid off as part of Tufts’ Operating Model Transformation, an initiative restructuring the university’s administrative functions.

Outsourcing Steals our future. Verizon or anywhere else.

Emails started going to US employees, slack channels for US employees only started showing up.
They are protecting the offshore employees from seeing this ugly carnage here in the US.

US companies keep making billions here, yet they fire American workers and ship jobs overseas. Outsourcing is booming 980 billion this year and projected to grow to 1.6 trillion in 5 years, all these are US jobs getting outsourced while families here drown under rising healthcare and living costs.

WE NEED TO REACT

The HIRE Act was built to protect OUR jobs, but Congress lets it rot while CEOs like Hans and Dan cash bonuses. If we don’t support laws for U.S. workers, no one will.
Call your lawmakers, flood them with requests to support US workers and not to cave in to outsourcing lobbiest:

Unionize now to fight for a better tomorrow

If we’d been unionized, Verizon could not just blindsided 15,000 of us overnight. A union contract legally forces the company to negotiate the layoff process first, things like timelines, criteria, alternatives, notice periods, and protections. They can’t just drop the axe and walk away. It becomes a fight, not a surprise.

Care Management

Another pilot - moving SNP associates to HUMCS to address social determinants of health. SNP audit was predicted this year so there has been all this pressure to address GIC’s and review to IHWA and MOP. Now we need to move to HUMCS pilot and cold call members to address social determinant of health needs. How do you help with housing, food, medical equipment, transportation and other needs so that members can go to the doctor and get needed care. Agencies don’t have $$$ to help with food scarcity. There is no low income housing available - Not accepting applications or waitlists. No transportation in rural areas or members cannot afford. Members having to choose between food or meds or housing. Utilities turned off because of reduction in LIHEAP assistance. The democrats gave up. Republicans have cut off financial support for social programs. Without the financial assistance programs, people cannot meet their very basic needs. It shouldn’t be this hard to ensure that people have housing, safety, healthcare, food, etc. Many members have income of $1000 or less per month. Could you live on that? This is not about politics - it’s about people helping people, kindness, and basic humanity. Vote, donate, find little ways to advocate for others, speech up, educate others. Let’s do this together. Let’s believe in and support each other. Let’s lead with love and not hate.

Strike or maybe Unionized

Strike or Unionized

U.S. employees are being displaced with offshore workers and/or artificial intelligence. It’s UnAmerican and unconscionable.

Perhaps the only way this can be stopped is if US employees (not in leadership roles) unite and demand changes immediately.

And maybe it is time for Healthcare workers to become unionized.

The Customer

In every company that I have ever worked for, my focus has always been advocating for the customer, whether that be in new product development, maintenance of existing products, resolving issues that are encountered, or being available when the customer needed help.

I have had the pleasure/joy over my career of having worked at companies that had this same value set. It was vital that the customer knew that he could trust us to do him right

While at F5, I continued the value set of advocating for the customer, however I soon learned that this was not the value set of F5. I continually encountered strong resistance. Premature release of software, software that was buggy and customer sub cases that were ignored to name a few.

Since my RIF, I have interviewed with many companies and to date haven’t found one that places the customer first. It’s about stock price and revenue. And after F5, I choose not to work in that type of environment again.

Write/email your elected leaders. Stop offshoring jobs.

India buys Russian oil yet we continue to offshore jobs to that country. Should this continue? Forget H1B visas because they just offshore the jobs instead. Tell you elected leaders to look at the job board for conformation. Knowledge workers do more for the economy than manufacturing jobs.

Canadians Deserve Better from Imperial Oil

Imperial Oil profits from Canada’s natural resources, while:

Releasing emissions into our shared air,
Firing Canadian workers, and
Outsourcing jobs to India — all while Continuing to claim tax write-offs for foreign labour.

This is unacceptable.
Canadians deserve responsible corporate behaviour and government accountability.

Keeping members in the loop

I work face to face with providers and members and decided to actually encourage them to come to this site and others to be informed about the atrocities of this company and how greedy and shallow the shareholders are. It is important members know the authorizations and care they need are getting created and handled by people oversees. I’ve had providers vent for hours on how rude the Indian representatives are and how they input the incorrect information in the system. I attend very single town meeting and take notes and inform those who are outside the company because this had got to stop. We need to take care of our members and only have American citizens handling their cases. I have even helped a few members find better and more affordable insurances and start the process for canceling whatever they have under UHG. I don’t care anymore.
