RTO Enforcement and Expectations

Does anyone know how this RTO mandate will be enforced for hybrid employees in the Twin Cities/DC? Some team members have pre-arranged trips this summer where they were planning to work remotely and now are afraid they have to cancel their trips... — read more

Another data breach: Episource owned by Optum

https://techcrunch.com/2025/07/14/episource-is-notifying-millions-of-people-that-their-health-data-was-stolen/ Anyone hear anything about this? Optum owns Episource, the breach occurred in February 2025 according to the article and according to the... — read more

Silence before the storm?

I have a habit of checking the new Optum job postings on a daily basis. It's noon right now and there are usually 40-60 new ones by this time. Today? ZERO. It feels eerie. I wouldn't think much of it but with the context of 7/17 around the corner, it... — read more

RTO is a truly costly affair

And not just in terms of money, though the added commute and office-related expenses are significant. The real cost is time. I lose hours every single day just getting to and from the office. And once I’m there, I lose time too. I’m noticeably less... — read more

Hours as a salaried employee

How many do you work or not work on average? Does going from hourly to salary change a lot ? Are you required to hit 40 hours on the dot or is there a policy?

As long as they keep offering severance, I'm good

I don't want to be laid off, but I'll be okay with it and severance. But a friend worked for a company that let go of a whole bunch of people and made it so as if they had a choice of accepting new roles (for much lower pay, which means it wasn't... — read more

RTO

We got some treats for coming in but I'm done with the office. I'm going to work from home. The penalty is that you'll get a lower bonus or raise but what's that really going to amount to? Our earnings su-k, and we're underperformed. I'm sorry but... — read more

Rinse and repeat

Watch once again as they let go of the best people while the ones running things into the ground keep their jobs. There’s no real direction here, just a bunch of empty talk and panic moves. Feels like nobody upstairs has a clue. This used to be a... — read more

Voluntary Departure

I do not understand why they do not have a volunteer list that people can sign up for being severanced. The are a lot of staff who are in a position to leave and it would make it so some that want to stay can. Am I oversimplifying it?

So, is next week going to be really bad?

Different dates are being mentioned for next week, people are getting invites, but nobody knows yet what they’re about. Don’t get me wrong, I’m resigned to my faith, but it would be nice to have heads up if it’s layoffs. — read more

Pre-service coordinators/PCRs

Meeting invites were sent out yesterday to all PCRs. There were 3 different meeting invites and I’m not sure if they all fall on 7/17. There’s nothing that can be done by worrying, but my gut instincts tell me this isn’t a good sign. — read more

Endless restructurings

Is there ever going to be a point where we're actually done? Where we're finally structured the right way? On a related note, when do the people behind all these failed restructures start facing consequences for constantly getting it wrong? Is that... — read more

On coming layoffs, both soft and official

I'm a little concerned about the critical thinking skills of the rank and file around here. Leaders, sure, but that's more a sociopathic lack of empathy, but people on here? Yes, any formal layoff in July was in the works before BBB. That said... — read more

Burnout is everywhere right now

The expectations keep going up while support keeps dropping. People are stretched thin and it's starting to show in every possible way. You can’t keep pushing without something breaking.

HR question around Optum providers/MDs

QQ... The Hippocratic oath doesn't explicitly prevent a doctor from lying but modern medical ethics do emphasize transparency and honesty. Does a UHG employment contract supersede the hippocratic oath, or are doctors when asked in a deposition... — read more

Not laid off (yet), but just found out I and others are moving under offshore director. I'm a 29. Dusting off resume now. I've worked for this company since 2009, and this is the thank you.

Being re-orged

Anyone have advice? I start new team Monday. Was just informed two days ago. Wow.

Payroll from different name?

My direct deposit goes in 2 days early on payday weeks and today it said it was from UnitedHealthCare, NOT Optum like it always has before. Is this related to the switch to MyHR, or are they having to pay payroll out of a different pot?

Payroll

Why does my direct deposit now say UnitedHealtcare and not Optum? Anyone else?

Talent reviews… again?
