The purpose of H1b is because employers can not find citizens with those skills. Today there is no shortage of SWE's, yet Nike has so many H1b's and continues to file petition for hiring them.

Cargill is planning to lay off about five percent of its workforce. An estimated 8,000 layoffs will occur across the board. Approximately 475 in-person and remote jobs will be cut at the company’s Minnetonka headquarters. Affected workers will be notified this week, with terminations beginning in February. Cargill states these changes are part of a long-term strategy.

Massive reduction in force aligned for June under the code "restructuring". Starting July, company will operate under a completely new model. This week has felt incredibly heavy. Several people I know walked out for the last time on March 31, and it’s been hard to watch. Some were lucky enough to retire on their own terms, but others left with severance they never asked for. It’s heartbreaking, and honestly, I don’t know how much more people can endure as this drags on all the way to 2028.

Anyone have insight on home and community prior auth reviewers? Not enough work for everyone right now and am wondering if layoffs are imminent. Any insight is much appreciated!

If the layoffs are over for now, does anybody know the total number of casualties? It seems an entire BU in Engineering was eradicated. There will be nothing left to divest.

So far red badge contract HTOMs, engineers, and intake phone staff are being laid off. So sad to not give much warning and out into the saturated market.

As per a contact in HR, there’s word TB is planning a second round of layoffs in October. They’ll be reviewing all projects over summer. Anything non-core is likely at risk.

As per a contact in HR - this was just the initial wave. They will be making further cuts this summer to reach the 30k goal.

After the cluster fu-k of the POD model rollout and people assignment over the last few moths, linked into the UKI time tracking switch and PODs looking into billing costs, people aligned to the PODs are being told they can no longer book time to those WBS codes and to find one elsewhere… I know of at least 5 people this has happened too today, leads me to think the WFR bus is starting its engine again
