That GTH was nothing

Am I crazy or did that town hall this morning not give insight to anything? The only time Farley talked about rto was how personal he took the conference room hack but the culprit has been found and fired. Being the first GTH since this policy went into effect and not addressing it in the slightest is such a coward move by leadership. How does he get paid 20mil + gifted jerseys to drive around Utah in a Bronco and give these sh---y town halls?!

Town Hall Question

Previously our department was allowed to attend Town Halls or watch recording at a later date, we were not required to work while attending or watching. It appears now we are to continue working while we attend or watch.

Interested what other departments do, are you allowed to watch or attend while not working or is the expectation to work while attending?

Oh look, ANOTHER meeting BACKWARDS — I mean FRWD meeting

Another performative meeting. Same fake smiles, same empty hype. The opener must’ve said “I’m so excited” five times — and I couldn’t tell if he was convincing us or himself. These things are so staged it’s painful. Nothing real, nothing transparent. At this point, soap operas feel more honest. At least actors admit they’re performing.

Consistently working in Deerfield four days a week is essential to fostering collaboration and driving Walgreens’ success

Says the executive living in a multimillion-dollar home just 30 minutes from Deerfield, with a $100,000 car parked in a heated garage. If I were making $500,000 a year, I’d probably enjoy the daily commute in a brand-new Mercedes too.

If executives truly want camaraderie, perhaps they should rent city apartments and commute alongside us - waiting for buses and trains together this February when it’s -15 degrees with windchill would certainly build solidarity.

The truth is, we already proved during Covid that collaboration doesn’t depend on geography. Microsoft Teams and instant communication make it possible to deliver on time and at a high standard. To suggest otherwise is 100% disingenuous.

I was genuinely hoping for more detail on RTO during this afternoon’s Town Hall. Instead, it was barely mentioned. But at least now I know how many kids our executives have and which sports teams they root for - that’s exactly the information I needed to finally sleep soundly tonight.

Our Workforce… the very best in the industry…. Does he hear himself?

In today’s SETH opening remarks, MW’s finished talking about all the great work underway by saying that “what underpins all of this is our culture and workforce, the very best in our industry, and I wouldn’t trade them for anybody else’s.”

When he said that I immediately thought of all the US employees (the workforce he wouldn’t trade for anybody else) he fired so that he could hire someone into the same job in a different country (so basically traded for someone else)…. Did anyone else hear it that way?

Leads should be invited to the Leadership Meeting (Oct 8)

My Director mentioned that there’s a leadership meeting on October 8th same day as the October Employee Meeting. Only Directors and above are included in the leadership meeting.

This is unfair to the Lead level. Leads are Leaders without direct reports (people management responsibilities), which is a testament that Leads and Directors have the same pay band including target bonus. As such, Lead should be invited to the Leadership Meeting.

Humble request to extend the invitation to all the Leads.

300mm town hall w/ Brian Dunlap and Mike Beckman

Any thoughts on what was shared in today’s town hall with RFAB, DM6, SMFAB, LFAB? In a meeting last week, supposedly Yunus said there were no plans for further headcount actions. But please still voluntarily go burn all your TBK in Q4 so you’re cheaper to fire. Seemed to allude that Q3 numbers aren’t terrible, but they are worried about Q4.

C Anthony Town Hall

I personally felt he demonstrated why our company is ranked # 567 out of 600 Companies for Employee Culture.
He said nothing new but did double down that in spite of reading the survey comments, nothing is going to change.
Let me repeat that… Nothing is going to change.
He symbolizes what is wrong with our once great company.
Bravado yet doesn’t know what he doesn’t know.

Has anyone else on the PBM side been feeling the impact of the voluntary retirements and overall turnover lately?

In underwriting, the burnout is very real. Pay even came up in the recent town hall, which says a lot. Every time someone leaves, their work just gets redistributed to the rest of us: same pay, more responsibility. Meanwhile, competitors are paying more and we’re cutting benefits, so people are openly talking about leaving.

We’re also losing clients and not hitting our goals, and it’s hard not to connect that to the fact that so many experienced people have left. Their knowledge and expertise can’t just be replaced overnight, but instead we’re backfilling with new college grads who don’t yet know how things work. That gap is putting even more pressure on the people still here. Now we are expected to do our work, cover the work of those who have left, and train the new hires.

Curious if others across the PBM side are seeing the same. Do you think leadership really understands how widespread this is?
