IT Rebadging is coming with a another wave of RIF

IBM and Deloitte have closed the deal on Juneteenth day to takeover VZ IT. It would be a Centralized IT org to deliver the business requirements using Claude Code; hence you would see that your Gitlab repo has 1000+ developer access now(Go and check it out). VZ will do one more wave of RIF to reach the number of agreed workforce for rebadging and retain a small % in the IT.


June 2026 layoff rumors?

I’ve heard of coming layoffs and org changes taking effect at the end of Q2. Given that we are at the end, I’m wondering how true this is? My new manager hasn’t said or implied a thing.

Electronic Arts has begun informing staff of layoffs. Industry analyst Destin Legarie reported the initial round may be small. More job cuts are anticipated across multiple divisions. This follows EA's recent $55 billion acquisition by an investor consortium. The company aims for a leaner, more efficient structure.

Facebook Ask Midland Thread Removed

Just fyi... there were well over 300 comments about prayers for those impacted by the dow layoffs in Midland Michigan on ask midlands FB thread. Looks like the admin mediator was forced to remove all of it. There were several comments suggesting layoff numbers will reach 800-1000 locally within Midland.

As much fear and angst that have been posted on tbis board for the past few weeks about the 17th being doomsday and the small number of posts today, this sure seems like a nothingburger with a small number of people impacted.


Bungie Faces Massive Summer Layoffs

Bungie reportedly faces significant layoffs this summer. Around 50% of its 800 employees, or 400 staff, are at risk. Sony reported a $765 million impairment loss due to Bungie's underperformance. Destiny 2 support ended, and Marathon's recent efforts failed to improve its standing. Rumors of impending layoffs at the studio circulated last month.
