Fiserv takes 254k sf of space in Related Ross’ new Boca Raton campus

Fiserv has agreed to take about 254,000 square feet at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC), with the deal reported this morning, September 24. The company is moving its South Florida offices there from its existing Coral Springs facilities
https://www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/news/2026/09/24/fiserv-related-ross-new-boca-raton-campus.html

So relocating and actually leasing a larger footprint. Well I guess that means Fiserv is maintaining a long term South Florida operating presence rather than simply liquidate that location.

JTA Cuts Administrative Roles

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is implementing significant layoffs, impacting approximately 200 employees to address a $39 million budget deficit. A substantial portion of these cuts will affect management and administrative positions, with the Skyway division being the most heavily impacted. Senior leadership roles, including a Senior Vice President and a Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, are among those slated for elimination. These workforce reductions coincide with the planned cessation of Skyway operations on November 2nd as part of the agency's restructuring efforts. The interim CEO defended the agency's financial strategy, stating that these cuts are not a result of mismanagement.

Severance Payment Date

I just wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on the current wait for payment.

For those who had a 09/04 release date, I signed my agreement on the same day. I know there’s a 7-day revocation waiting period, and after that, they say it can take another 1–2 pay periods to receive the payment.

I know it may be wishful thinking, but I’m really hoping we get paid on 09/25 rather than having to wait almost a month without pay. 😅 Rent is due!

What does everyone think? Are we thinking 09/25, or are we more likely looking at 10/09?

Verizon Retiree COBRA Plan – Is It Worth the Cost?

Has anyone here who recently retired or forced into retirement from Verizon signed up for the Retiree COBRA Plan?

My severance package includes my current health coverage, but that coverage ends in September, so I’m trying to decide whether enrolling in the Retiree COBRA Plan is worth the cost.

I know I can call Verizon Benefits and get answers to my specific questions, but I’d really like to hear from real-world Verizon retirees who have actually gone through the process and can share their experience.

For those who enrolled:

What are you paying per month?
Which plan did you choose?
How has the coverage been compared with what you had while working?
Have you run into any unexpected costs, limitations, or issues?
Overall, do you feel the Retiree COBRA Plan is worth the cost?

I’d especially love to hear from Verizon retirees in Florida, but I’m interested in anyone’s experience. I’m trying to make an informed decision before my current coverage ends. Thanks!
