Valero Energy Corp. has announced plans to eliminate 237 positions at its Benicia refinery as it prepares to wind down operations at the facility, one of the last fuel-making plants in California. In a letter to state employment regulators and local officials, the company said it expects the closure to be permanent, with layoffs taking place from March 15 through July 1. The impacted employees are not represented by a union and make up most of the refinery’s 348-person workforce.

Several dozen employees at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base are expected to be laid off, according to a WARN notice. Sumaria Systems, LLC submitted the notice to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, stating that 57 workers at Wright-Patt are scheduled to lose their jobs on January 31.

Zayo is laying off about 15% today. Another successful period by the inept people in leadership positions.

Announced at 10:30am EST on 1/15/2025 the SDR organization including Small business and Government teams have all been let go, effective immediately. Not just 30% of the workforce as was being reported. The entire Org has been eliminated.

Smoky Mountain Logistics, LLC plans to permanently close its Lebanon facility at the end of February, affecting 145 employees, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced Monday.The shutdown is set to take effect Feb. 28.

Neighborhood has been taken down twice in the past 4-5 weeks. Actual Verizon techs working overnight at the Xboxes. What are they doing? Know they have used a lot of contractors for installation in the past but that has basically wound down and seems like there is no repair work based on the number of trucks you see after almost any type of inclement weather.

There was a townhall Thursday where Pinky pretty much told us that some of us will be moving on because the current staffing model will reduce the number of people in the new Abacus model. Tessera Therapeutics is planning to lay off 90 employees, the Flagship-founded biotech has warned.

In a state layoff notice posted Wednesday, Tessera explained that the workforce reduction will affect employees based in a number of U.S. states starting March 8.
