Manager Layer fat prevails

Multitude of high performing ICs are gone while the 6/7 layers of management fat prevails, almost untouched. Hearing that “managers in the next round” for years and years but nothing changes. The spectacularly d*mb , incredibly political and waste-of-space low- and mid-level managers in technical sales are strutting around our U.K. like they are the cat’s a$$ and own the place. Nice selfies from parties at Vegas on social media too. Nothing will change because they have a Patel God. It’s disgusting how deliberately the U.K. org is being decimated for the last 5 years.

This is happening everywhere H1Bs are hired.

This sort of thing is happening in every company where H1Bs are hired. The entire H1B system is corrupted and Trump should just reject all current H1Bs and all future H1Bs and all current Green Cards process while the person is still on H1B.

Walmart VP takes money from Indian contractors

https://www.ctol.digital/news/walmart-fires-vp-kickbacks-terminates-1200-contractors/

Dear Colleagues and Former Associates

As many of you know, Walmart announced a restructuring in May that resulted in approximately 1,500 corporate positions being eliminated. Just months later, reports surfaced that the company abruptly ended contracts for about 1,200 Global Tech contractors following an internal investigation into possible vendor misconduct.
While Walmart’s official statement clarified that only one vendor and a small number of U.S.-based associates were terminated for failing to uphold the company’s integrity standards, the volume of layoffs and contract cuts has left many of us with unanswered questions.
One immediate concern: former associates who were laid off earlier this year are now being rehired at rates between $60 and $65 per hour. Yet similar roles in the market are commanding $75 to $86 per hour. This discrepancy raises several issues:
• How are these rehiring decisions being made, and who is overseeing the process?
• Are we jeopardizing experienced talent for short-term cost savings?
• What checks are in place to ensure that rehires receive equitable pay and benefits?
To everyone navigating the rehiring process at Walmart:

  1. Ask who will submit your resume and negotiate your rate. Demand transparency about who controls your application and compensation.
  2. Compare external market rates. Bring data from industry job postings to your discussions—and insist on alignment with the prevailing $75–$86 range.
  3. Clarify your role’s scope, reporting structure, and any probationary terms before accepting an offer.
  4. Leverage your tenure and institutional knowledge. You know Walmart’s systems, culture, and customers; make that expertise part of your value proposition.
Walmart’s leadership—across global technology, supply chain, and retail operations—must remember that our associates are more than line items on a P&L. You deserve respect, fair pay, and a seat at the table when policies affecting your livelihood are decided.
Stay informed, ask tough questions, and stand firm on the value you bring.

For those who want to be RIF'd

Volunteering won't do it. The defiant nature of the leaders here will just give you more work, laugh at you struggle, and will try to make you quit.

You have to put yourself on the chopping block by simply reporting your manager to Employee Relations. They will take the side of your supervisor, BUT you are a target now. A person who doesn't go with the flow, and can potentially expose them. Therefore, becoming a financiql liability and a source to empower others.

I guarantee you will be on the next list.

Internal Bias

There’s been some chatter about internal roles being posted with a ‘preferred candidate’ allegedly already in mind. Supposedly, certain leaders have a reputation for giving opportunities to people in their inner circle, and many employees feel it creates an uneven playing field.

On top of that, the culture in parts of the firm (some say CRM and even more specifically compliance supposedly) is described by many as having ‘mean girl energy.’ If you don’t play the game (feed egos, camera on head nodding in agreement, don’t mention the fake glamour headshots), you risk getting up blackballed often times with the support of HR (supposedly).

Some have said there is one specific leader who stands out in this regard, allegedly she gets worse every year because she’s been getting away with it for so long. Apparently, she’s great at managing up, but for those in her world that dare challenge her perspective, the experience has the potential to be miserable (supposedly).

The running joke that helps get many of us through the day is pulling up the Schweb and laughing at what appears to be a heavily AI-filtered glamour headshot. It’s hilarious and also perfectly on brand for how fake the culture feels these days. And with layoffs and constant uncertainty hanging over people’s heads, we all need a good laugh!

MIGA - Make Intel Great Again

I think Trump has some other things up his sleeve that will help Intel and give them an unfair advantage over other companies. I know this seems weird on how Intel spearheaded the Chips act and we are the only company being hosed by it, however I think it might turn out to be a great thing. Let’s give it some time……the Donald still has 3 years.

Initiatives like diversity and Sustainability Ki-led Intel

Think about it. We hit all of our diversity and sustainability goals over the last 8 years and we missed all of the technical business goals that were supposed to propel the company growth. I know first hand that we went way overboard on our hiring and retention of minorities. We lost
Out on so much technical talent that was not diverse. Managers were forced to hire African American, women or Hispanic candidates. I remember years when we would have excellent engineers to hire and we were stopped by HR and
Forced to wait for a URM candidate with the minimum qualifications. They were far and few between in the engineering field. We lost so many great non diverse engineers in this process. I went to a university hiring event and was horrified when HR said we were extending offers to all Black and women engineers, even before we interviewed them! Then at Focal or rewards managers were
Forced to meet a URM promotion and high rating goal even if they were not ready. We lost great non diverse talent because we could not justly reward there exemplary results. On sustainability, Intel wanted to lead…..mostly because they knew no other company wanted to waste precious people Resources on this endeavor. It was maddening how HR leaders and Social Justice majors ruined Intel! Don’t get me wrong, Diversity and sustainability are good……however these are good examples on how Intel lost focus. Thanks BK, Swan, various HR CPO’s.

Who is this parasitic leader in US? One who contributes no value, yet thrives by feeding off his remote teams work ?

Many non-american directors and VPs in US are surviving by feeding on work of their remote teams. They have no technical, no planning, and no managerial ability. They cannot contribute to strategy and not set direction for the team.
Theiremote team wastes time explaining work to him so he can brief higher-ups, but there poor grasp and inaccurate updates create confusion and more effort. Out of insecurity, they misrepresent successes as their own foresight, blame failures on remote leads, and withhold information from remote leads to keep them from becoming threats. They even avoid involving remote leads in meetings with other american peers and managers, ensuring they are cut off from visibility and credit. Careers in remote teams depend on their patronage, not merit; loyalists are rewarded, independent voices punished. Their insecurity, politics, and favoritism fracture the team and poison the culture.
Have you come across such leaders ??

Why merge with us?

With the culture and functionality in such a poor state, why would anyone willingly want to join us? We will be a poison pill to any partner. Countless case studies exhibiting cultures like ours destroying their new host entity.

Any higher-ups lurking that glanced into the palantir? None of this seems sustainable Is RV and Co just robbing us blind? I dont see the off ramp...

Campaign to White House

Not sure if this will amount to much, but with the recent problems with India and United States, I took it upon myself to go to the Whitehouse website and write a small letter to President Trump that he needs to stop the major Oil and Gas companies moving engineering and technical expertise to India. I cited loss of jobs, knowledge, and local taxes to communities. I finally stated we should not be moving our expertise to a country that wants to buddy up with Russia. Our oil and gas companies have become greedy and although this may not amount to anything, I would appreciate if others would write the White House on their website.

I’m from the Government and I’m here to help

Well, it’s over. Intel is no longer a runner in the game of capitalism. Suggestions for management, the board or the CEO are all irrelevant ant all his time. Intel is now a pariah to the mainstream capitalist economic system. Let it slowly sink in. Hire a therapist if necessary but It’s Over.

Changes Are Coming: Proposed Changes To H-1B Visa Lottery System

Proposed Changes To H-1B Visa Lottery System

The Trump administration plans to end or change the H-1B visa lottery, replacing random selection with a salary-based or weighted system. The Office of Management and Budget is reviewing the rule, which could take effect by March 2026 for the FY 2027 cap.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2025/07/21/new-trump-immigration-policy-ending-the-h-1b-visa-lottery/

A similar rule finalized in 2021 ranked applications by wage levels but was never implemented. That system would have excluded most Level 1 and many Level 2 workers, categories that include recent graduates and early-career professionals. The new rule’s title, “Weighted Selection Process,” suggests a lottery with higher chances for higher-paid applicants.

Critics argue this approach disadvantages international students and undervalues talent in lower-paid fields. More than 70% of U.S. graduate students in computer science and electrical engineering are international, and most are paid at Level 1 or Level 2. Employers in science, medicine and education could also be affected.

Opponents say the change conflicts with the Immigration and Nationality Act, which requires petitions to be considered in filing order. Business groups and universities warn the rule could weaken U.S. competitiveness by limiting young skilled workers. The broader issue remains the low annual H-1B cap, which covers only a small fraction of the labor force and leaves high demand unmet.

Numbers Rollup:

  • 85,000 total H-1B cap (65,000 regular plus 20,000 advanced degree)
  • 343,981 eligible registrations for FY 2026
  • Nearly two-thirds of registrations rejected due to cap limits
  • More than 70% of graduate students in computer science and electrical engineering are international
  • 83% of computer science PhDs and 80% of electrical engineering PhDs in U.S. R&D are foreign-born
  • Level 1 and Level 2 wages cover about 90% of recent international graduates

The Great Intel Fire Sale, Brought to You by Trump

Trump "America First" doctrine will mean the forced sale of Intel fabs outside of US. The fabs in Ireland and Israel are first on the chopping block, followed by the design centers in IDC Haifa and Bangalore. its over. Panther Lake will be the last product of Intel before selling this group to another fabless company.
Congratz LBT, you ki-led Intel. Good luck everyone.
