I applied for a job that they are filling due to 3 people taking VRP. Is this a good move? I thought they wanted to cut the workforce, not replace them.

Can we talk about H1B
so, why is there so much H1B at Dell, or even in other countries, when there are a ton of US based workers that have been laid off. I thought the purpose of H1B is to use folks from other countries when there aren't enough qualified US people to do the same job. I think in this current economy, we have moved beyond that. We have plenty of qualified US workers to do the jobs being done by H1B workers here in the US. I feel H1B is being abused and not used for its intended purpose. Companies are using it for cheap labor. I'm willing to be that there are plenty of laid off US workers that would be do the same job for the price they're paying the H1B people. Seems like we need to make a shift in this now changing landscape.
US GC Holders giving way to H1-Visa Cr-p
Yet again - US Citizens laid off and H1 Visa holders getting hired!
New Hire Here
I joined the company and have loved every moment so far. Thanks to my new team for being wonderfully great.
I do sit next to a negative nanny who should be fired though. She sounds as nasty and made as most of you. Can you angry birds go dive into the ocean and stay?
Admin leave
Placed on admin leave with no timeframe because "your position is under evaluation" due to "restructuring/reorg and looking to reduce costs"? Anyone familiar with this? Thanks!
Subsurface jobs
How do the jobs posted in rd 2 look in the subsurface space? Big cuts?
Biased hiring/layoff practices
The company should take action against managers who engage in fraudulent or biased hiring practices. Such practices can bring in employees who may not be qualified, which negatively affects the workplace environment.
Jobs are even scarcer than I thought
I've learned the hard way that just because jobs are listed online doesn’t mean the company is actually hiring. Some postings feel more like window dressing than real opportunities. It wastes my time and achieves absolutely nothing. It's infuriating, if you want the truth.
Question
Are laid-off folks offered a chance to land another role within Oracle in a set time frame? When I was laid off from my previous company last year, I had 60 days to apply for internal openings (spoiler: I didn’t get anything). I’m wondering if Oracle has a similar process or not.
Who else is getting poached by Alteryx
The offers are above the market. Judging by their boards, they need marketers, designers, strategists and sales. It's a mess there. Take advantage of chaos.
Should I apply for a job?
Hey all, I’m a geo looking for my second role and thinking about whether it’s worth applying to Permian Resources if something comes up. I’ve seen a lot of harsh feedback - poor culture, little support, high turnover, and I’m honestly hesitant. Jobs are scarce though, so I’m wondering is it really that bad, or are there any redeeming qualities? Would appreciate any honest insights.
Is Oracle under a hiring freeze?
Given all the layoffs that are sweeping through the company and still to come, are any of the jobs listed on oracle.com actually open? Can anyone inside comment as to whether they've seen any hiring happening or is it frozen for 60 days?
Not renewing h1b anymore?
Is it true there are no h1b renewals/extensions being done? That’s another way to reduce
Exxon test
Well it finally happened! Someone called the anonymous hotline and reported the cheating that was going on with the test to get hired in Carlsbad. I really feel like anyone hired in the last year should have to retake the test without someone helping them and be fired if they can’t pass it. It’s pretty unfair that people missed out on a job opportunity to someone that cheated on the test.
Hiring Trends
How have the hiring trends been at the firm lately or is there still lots of retirements and attrition ? So glad I took the lump sum at the end of 2021. Hope the pension gets funded and restricted lump sum is not on the horizon.
Can AI handle that new position you are looking to hire
Anyone else privy to the new policy that roles can’t be backfilled or hired until you prove why AI can’t do the role? And then you have to go and justify your position to MAV and ME, for them to approve.
75 pos to be added
Per meeting with director today 75 pos are looking to be added to FTC ABS/Amisys teams for the 3rd and 4th qtr...seems like a lot. These pos will be internal and external applicants.
Why are there suddenly job postings on LinkedIn for jobs that were eliminated last month?
I just had a former CDW coworker let me know that the jobs of a few people who were let go in July are now posted on LinkedIn. These were longer-term coworkers who were making a clear and critical impact for CDW who were let go--all of them in their late 40s/early 50s.
And now CDW tries to rehire for those jobs?
I see a lawsuit in CDW's future.

Location Strategy
Does anyone here have further insight into the location strategy Sam posted about? Specifically as it relates to the buildings that were previously deemed “hubs” (such as lake Mary, Tulsa) and her message regarding future hiring focused on the 3 centers going forward?
Is it true there is a hiring freeze?
Are more layoffs coming?
