This is incredibly strange and makes you wonder who manages GT and how.

Because you cost too much and don’t do sh-t aside from getting drunk at off sites. What did you think would happen?
@bh WHQ has hiring freeze, ITC not
We have about 8 people on our team from ITC. They dont know how to do anything other than deflect and collect their paycheck.
One WHQ person outperforms all 8 combined. Cheaper and more efficient to stay in-house with people that actually care about their work and performance.
this argument of ITC being 1/5 the cost, 1/4 the cost, whatever, you get what you pay for, it's not cheaper, and if anything, its actually MORE expensive
programming is not scalable, adding 5 people to 1 problem doesn't solve the problem 5 times faster, if anything it slows it down to stand still
1 quality person can do the work of 20 ITC staff and do it better. And how about that Cursor, so why do we need ITC at all?
If you think nike is late to the game to offshore, well, nike is really late to the game to realign development teams to be:
- whq based
- high quality members
- good communicators
then watch the productivity soar
itc takes productivity and mumbles it up and makes a big mess!
ITC doesn't do sh-t. They spend their work day playing and partying, get on the phone during WHQ's morning for 2 hours, and then sign off again.
Waste of money, resources, and time.
As a whq tech person, are they just waiting for me to burn out and quit as my available working hours shift to 6am to 10pm?
15 Software Engineering job postings in USA. 54 Software Engineering job postings in India. Check Nike Careers page numbers do not lie.
Hiring in the US is over 5x more expensive than India. Complain about quality as much as you want, but any leader would take a chance for 5x.
Your question is as clear as to ask why Nike doesn’t make the shoes in USA.
They're hiring in ITC to transition work from Beaverton to Indian after the layoffs bro.
@a1 it's all bs. The bias isn't just against white workers, it's against any none Indian workers. Even Indian workers have to belong to the right clique
@af bullsh-t. I have a tech background and I can see the shenanigans. It's really hard ignore. It's not clueless leadership, they are actively colluding with these agency f*ckers to provide cr-p solutions for million dollar contracts. Btw, no management has ppt skills, there are templates and people that make the presentations slick.
Get over it. Tech and back office solutions in practically every industry, every F500 company has for decades been migrating to low cost geos. Nike is late to the game.
If Nike tech had leaders with technical chops instead of PPT deck making as their main competency, they could have spotted the kind of bullsh-t, complex solutions and architectures consulting companies like ACN have been passing off for years at Nike. Not to mention directors and snr directors with no tech background who don't know the first thing about system thinking.
The point is the rot starts at home.
ITC alone won't fix it.
But the correct leadership can... Maybe.
