US Dept of Labor Suspends PERM filings from Congizant due to H1B Fraud.

On September 8, 2026, DOL Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito announced the suspension of permanent labor certification (PERM) filings for IT services giant Cognizant, as well as software firm Cloudera. The enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal crackdown on alleged visa fraud, wage kickbacks, and worker exploitation involving H-1B and PERM employment-based immigration programs.

" The investigation is being conducted alongside the White House Fraud Task Force. While the restriction prevents new filings, the government is also reviewing previously approved PERMs across IT consulting, staffing, and third-party placement agencies. ""

This suspension program may extend to other big employers as well.

Cognizant

A few months ago there was a report that Centene was partnering with Cognizant for AI tech enabled processes. This partnership would bring about $5 billion in revenue to Cognizant, while saving Centene a ton of money by not having staff. I started doing some research on this company and was shocked at how many times they have been sued by their own employees in the last 5 years. It seems like this company wants all of the US work it can get but refuses to have US employees, and if they do have them, they discriminate until they are sued. Today, this article came out regarding Cognizant's PERM filings are suspending pending a fraud investigation regarding HB1 Visa's and other PERM filings. This investigation based on Whistleblower complaints. Centene laid off thousands of American's to partner with a company who allegedly treats their American staff like cr-p??? Is that why Cognizant works so hard to make their Indian born staff become US Citizens, so then they can legally say they had US staff? I am all for equality and work with some amazing people from many diverse backgrounds, but it seems like Centene wants to replace their staff with AI and a vendor who prefers to hire non American's ....allegedly!!!! Very sad ☹️

Cognizant investigation

We all know FIS is moving some U.S. employees to Cognizant rather than directly laying them off, with those employees becoming Cognizant employees and continuing to perform work previously done for FIS. This is significant because Cognizant is currently under federal scrutiny involving H-1B visas and the potential displacement of American workers. There is currently no public evidence that FIS itself has been named as a target of that investigation. However, if U.S. employees are transferred to Cognizant and their jobs are subsequently performed by lower-cost foreign workers, that arrangement could potentially attract the attention of federal investigators. Outsourcing itself is not illegal; the key issue is whether the arrangement involves violations of H-1B or other worker-protection laws.

Dear Takis,

Many hardworking knowledgeable employees have quit due to remote work options. Some of the “special” people are allowed to work remote and move all over the country. So much for one Fiserv. The rest of the knowledge base is being laid off. Why don’t you remove some of the layers of VPs instead?
You are replacing qualified Americans with lower cost H1Bs. We are getting what you paid for… no knowledge garbage.

Please clean up the mess and make Fiserv great again.

If you honestly think Citi is running a rigged scam by prioritizing H1B/H4/L1/OPT etc. visa holders over US citizens, then cancel all your Citibank accounts and credit cards right now! Sell the stock and cash out all your money.

There is absolutely zero reason to do business with corporate garbage that actively dumps its own citizens.

They may fire hundreds of people in the next few weeks. Citi HR is a scam. Please expose every manager, recruiter who fraudulently hire people and fire hard working Americans.

Choose your tenure wisely in this sinking ship.

Serious Problem with Management and the AI Shift

We have a serious problem, and it is hurting American society. My Indian manager’s manager is sitting in India, and there is a lack of work ethics throughout the management chain. There is no real work-life balance, and this management culture is simply hurting American workplace culture.

With the shift toward AI, we should no longer be relying on H-1B employees in the same way. We need to reduce unnecessary layers of management and put more resources into engineering - hiring and retaining people who can actually code, leverage AI effectively, and deliver results. We need fewer managers and more capable engineers who can build.

Salary Range: The median H-1B salary is approximately $136,000 to $145,703 depending on the fiscal year data, with 75% of salaries falling below $162,227.

Employee Base: Walmart employs over 2,000 H-1B visa holders, primarily concentrated in technology, engineering, and e-commerce positions.

Shame on Walmart for not paying its US associates at a similar rate.

The ideology in Citi Tampa is simple. Make Indians sit in director or SVP roles. Keep hiring Indians in h1b under them - promote those h1 Indians. Every capped H1B should have to reinterview against Americans yearly

We really need to address Oracles abuse of H1B. They lay off Americans and then hire more H1Bs at the same time. There should be a requirement for capped H1Bs to have to interview for the job with a group of qualified Americans yearly. This way we can prove the H1B is needed over an American. Especially at Oracle. I guarantee the H1B wont' be needed because we have a qualified American for the job.

Good news from our favorite President on H-1B visas

President Donald Trump's administration on Monday released a proposed regulation to codify an unprecedented fee of more than $100,000 on new H-1B visas for highly skilled foreign workers that has been blocked by the courts.

The fee, first temporarily imposed by Trump last year, dramatically raises the cost of visas that are heavily relied on in the tech, education and research sectors.

A federal judge in June ‌ruled that the fee was illegal and blocked the Trump administration from collecting it.

A Boston-based appeals court is reviewing that ​decision while a different court considers whether a judge properly rejected a challenge to the fee by a major business group.

Trump's temporary fee increase expires in September, one year after it was issued.

The proposed rule by the Department ⁠of Homeland Security, posted in the Federal Register on Monday, would make a fee of $103,265 permanent.

It could be finalized by the end ​of the year.
