Canby School District Faces Staff Reductions
Canby School District is implementing staff reductions. Fifty-three employees received layoff notices for the 2026-27 school year. These cuts are due to a $6.3 million budget shortfall. Superintendent Jennifer Patterson informed the community about the financial issues. A five-year school operating levy will appear on the May 19 ballot.

Rumors are floating around that more layoffs will be at HQ. Especially in Data, Strategy, PMO and Engineering
Osceola manufacturing plant closing
Polaris is closing its Osceola manufacturing plant facility which will leave nearly 190 workers out of a job.
The closure will begin in July and end by Jan. 31, 2027, a letter to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Displaced Workers Unit said.
The employment of 189 employees working at the facility will end by the time the facility completely closes, the letter said.
