I’ve seen reports of layoffs. Do you know which teams are affected?

Charter Communications will close its regional office in Town and Country, Missouri. This closure will result in 107 employees losing their jobs. The affected positions include network engineers and upper management. The company is issuing a WARN notice to comply with legal requirements. Employees will not have bumping rights to retain their positions.

When can we expect layoffs and what functions will be impacted?

Does anyone have any reliable information on percentage of the layoffs for next week? Is it a set number as usual, ie roughtly 10% or 75% with dan the man.. or is it targeted to eliminate orgs, hit some way harder than others?

Announced yesterday that the Bioanalytical group in PPD Middleton (separate from GMP) will be consolidated in Richmond. Unsure how many people laid off, but only 30ish were retained.

Alpha Technologies Services announced significant layoffs affecting 75 employees. The company will also permanently close its operations unit. Manufacturing and assembly will be relocated to a Georgia facility. This move by the parent company, EnerSys, impacts a long-standing Bellingham manufacturer. The layoffs are scheduled to begin in late August.

Anyone have any suspicions as to how Provider Data Management teams across the company will be affected? My team (Wellcare Medicare of Connecticut) was already cut significantly once in 2024 because we exited the Vermont market then, and this year we were combined with Maine under one manager.
Without us and what we do, providers can't get enrolled, credentialed and paid, and members don't know who they can even go to see, so I'd say we serve a very critical function. But I know that means little to nothing at the end of the day in all of this. My manager has already said that if she has any say in the cuts at all that me and one other person are definitely not going, but obviously no guarantees that she will have any authority there. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just heard the Bellevue and Portland offices are being closed at the end of July? Any other offices affected or just those two?

Volkswagen is now considering cutting up to 100,000 jobs. Adding to the 50k cuts that were already planned, they are now also looking at closing four German plants, which is about another 45k, perhaps more.
That's according to Reuters sources. VW declined to comment and said any decisions would be announced officially.
