Sycamore plans to double Walgreens profits.
Unfortunately the news article is paywalled. But how exactly do they plan to double profits? More cutbacks?? Is this the part where private equity starts doing what they do best, cut everything down to nothing to maximize profits?? Here is the link to the article but sorry it's paywalled.

Are the severance packages any different under ML?
I read when FB was in charge he changed the severance package from 2 week to one week per service year. Is that still the case under ML with the recent layoffs? If it went back to 2 weeks, still capped at 26 weeks?
Will there be more layoffs ?
Any more layoffs this year?
Which teams will be impacted?
Cuts, and job threats.
Every day we hear something about cuts and have are jobs threatened! Do it already! Tired of being under the damn microscope! I constantly see people sitting in the cafe as I go from assignment to assignment, and everytime, no matter what time, there is a old blond haired lady sitting in OC8. No wonder Intel is in trouble, paying people to sit around and do nothing!
Allina
Anyone know the timeline for Allina layoffs?
I'm hearing layoffs are quietly happening
People are getting cut this month in a division here, rumor I heard was if 3M keeps it below 50 a month they don't have to announce it publicly or notify the state? I have not heard of anyone in my division getting cut.
Layoffs or cuts?
I just joined at a Randstad/Cella consultant just a week ago and was told yesterday that they will be cutting some of their staff. Is there any truth to this? I wasn't sure if this is normal or not but I just got here.
I prefer it this way
Say what you want, but I like that we got a heads-up about these cuts, even if it caused weeks (months) of stress. I got lucky and am still here, but if I had been affected, at least I would’ve been ready. If it had been a sudden announcement, I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t have been the case.
When is next round ?
When is next round planned and how big will it be
On Reddit: Wells Fargo not giving severance $? Link included in text
Our dumpster fire of a workplace has spread to Reddit lol. Rumors of severance being reduced to 1 week per year after 4 years of service, multiple people saying they were blindsided with IM ratings at year end and suddenly let go with no severance, and more.
We've all been warned. This will be our norm and it has already happened for some employees. Employees will be fake-fired for non-existent performance issues. All to save severance $$. The brutality will only increase for those that are still hanging on. Wish i left when i had the chance.
The Stagecoach is a career ki-ler.

Oklahoma County's Jail Faces Staff Cuts
Oklahoma County's detention facility faces a critical budget shortfall. Its operating authority will request more funding Tuesday. Layoffs or furloughs are possible without additional money. These personnel cuts would impact daily jail operations. The National Guard or other agencies might provide assistance.

Imagine if they had incentives instead of punishment and cuts on a whim
Maybe then they wouldn't need to spend so much energy controlling us. Old concept, I know. But today's corporations seem to have forgotten it completely.

There have been some rumors since the big round in January about April being a target for a second round of layoffs. Anyone have more details to share on if another round will emerge and areas impacted?
There you have it !
https://www.edhat.com/beyond-local/news/california-toy-giant-mattel-inc-to-lay-off-65-employees-at-headquarters/#
Toy giant Mattel, the maker of Barbie and Hot Wheels, is laying off employees from its El Segundo headquarters, according to a notice to state authorities.
The company is expected to permanently lay off 65 employees from its headquarters located at 333 Continental Blvd in El Segundo, Los Angeles County, according to its official WARN notice.
Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) Act, employers are legally mandated to provide a minimum of 60 days’ notice prior to plant closures, mass layoffs, or major relocations. The notice gives local agencies and staff time to prepare, according to WARN.
Mattel submitted the documentation on March 23, 2025, and it was processed the following day. The layoffs will be effective from May 22, 2026, the WARN filing showed.
This is the second time Mattel has laid off employees from its headquarters within a few months. In January 2026, the company laid off 89 employees, according to WARN filings.
Citing a Mattel spokesperson, a news report by Los Angeles Business Journal said that the layoffs in January were part of its effort to restructure its global brands team.
Most of the impacted employees held senior or executive positions, including significant roles on Barbie, action figures, and games teams, the report added.
In March 2025, Mattel laid off 120 workers from its headquarters, most of whom held positions like manager, director, and vice president, according to a Los Angeles Times report. The job losses were part of the cost-cutting effort as the company focused on maximizing its profits.
Citing Mattel spokesperson Catherine Frymark, the news report said that the company was targeting $200 million in cost savings by 2026.
Earlier layoff notices showed that Mattel reduced 439 employees from its El Segundo headquarters since 2020, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Cuts being implemented quietly with strong handed approach
This is happening to a number of people, good people too and it really makes no sense when they keep hiring. This now seems a regular approach to making change happen whenever and wherever by whomever
Nut Up
All you need is charisma to lead when things are good. Things are not good and need to be led with tough decisions and swiftly.
For tech he needs to cut at least 2/3 of employees and give the remaining a 5% raise to get folks out of slump. Cut all the new or recently promoted leaders as well. They are not smart and useless. Run it on bare bones until things turn around.
I’m in tech so can’t speak for other areas.
Will be a big mistake with the stock so low if we come out of layoffs with only 500-1k gone.

Princeton University Cuts Staff, Freezes Pay, More Expected
Princeton University has frozen senior faculty salaries and cut departmental budgets. President Christopher Eisgruber warned that more cuts are coming. Nine staff members from the Keller Center for Innovation were recently laid off. The university faces financial pressure due to rising healthcare costs and lower endowment returns. Future changes will focus on efficiency rather than expansion.

Don't expect layoffs to stop any time soon
This isn't ending anytime soon. They've been cutting consistently through the last several years and that seems to have turned into a business strategy. They're not even trying to hide it anymore. If numbers need to look better, why bother with trying to come up with something long-term and business related when you can simply cut people and have it all align nicely on that spreadsheet?
