CapOne / Big Tech like Agile Layoff coming?

Heard that a Big Tech style mass layoff removing Agile Roles (Scrum Masters, Coaches etc..) coming soon in anticipation of moving towards self-managing T Shaped roles. Anybody else heard?

Lenders

Does anyone know what, if any, lenders are hiring for multifamily underwriter positions? Is the market totally swamped with agency folks trying to land somewhere or is there still hope?

Palantir Integration

Seems like Palantir is being integrated to automate workflows and potentially terminate in-house development teams like fraud detection etc. Anybody have more insight?

Going public

Trump just officially announced plans to take Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac public. Major changes could be on the horizon for employees, depending on who ends up as the majority owner.

Pulling the disappearing act

So my direct boss and a senior manager both vanished last month. No farewell email, no transition, just poof. You’d think after years with the company they’d at least fake some enthusiasm on the way out. Makes you wonder what memos we aren’t getting... — read more

Tech Layoffs Friday

Got locked out mid workday with no notice, got an email a few hours later detailing that Fannie Mae is “realigning our resources to meet corporate priorities and business needs. As a result, we regret to inform you that Fannie Mae has made the... — read more

Any new talks of layoffs?

It seems pretty quite recently. Maybe they are done with all the layoffs? Is anyone hearing anything new?

Worker's Classification Updates

A few days ago I was notified by email by Enterprise Workplace that I am being reclassified from FLEX to REMOTE. I believe if you are playing a critical role within the company, they will change your worker's classification in order to keep you... — read more

Relocation - What Divisions?

I am in EROW as a FLEX employee but am not near a office but have not gotten an email for relocation. When is this email suppose to come out if its real?

Remote workers given deadline

Today, remote workers company wide were told to move back by 10/1 or be let go. They have until mid-June to let the company know their plans.

Remote worker quarterly visits

Any update on this? Have you been told you need to start planning Q2 visit? They are tracking everyone to see who’s coming in and who isn’t. Will you get fired if you don’t make one of the quarterly visits?

More layoffs?

It seems everyone agrees more cuts are on the way. The uncertainty is overwhelming.

Still one of the better options

I know this is an uncertain time and we are not used to this. Despite these layoffs, this remains one of the best places to work. Say what you will, but I have been here for five years and the pay, benefits, culture, atmosphere, and people have never... — read more

Plano Office

Walked in this morning and noticed a handful of people trying to gain access only to be told by security that they no longer have it and to contact HR. Not sure if this is related to layoffs or if we're telling contractors that their services are no... — read more

Layoff criteria?

I can’t seem to figure it out. It appears that some of the older, more experienced employees were disproportionately affected - which doesn’t seem like the smartest approach, but hey. I’m nearing fifty, and I’m a bit concerned that the likelihood of... — read more

Does Fannie Mae do PIPs?

At my last company, they followed up layoffs with ridiculous PIPs. Even some of our best people were not spared. Most walked out on their own, but those who stayed were eventually fired. Could something like that happen here? I haven't been here long... — read more

I’m honestly scared of losing my job

I don’t like it, and I wouldn’t mind being laid off if there were other options. But given the circumstances, I’m terrified. Most of us have dependents and financial obligations, and we simply can’t afford to be jobless for more than a few weeks—or... — read more

What is happening over at Fannie Mae?

I accepted a job offer at Fannie Mae, but recent news and information on this site are making me wonder if I made the right decision. What is it truly like working there right now?

Do you know how many people got hit overall?

I’ve been digging around, but I keep running into dead ends. Nothing’s in the news, and I haven’t seen any official updates - unless I totally missed something. Is there any way to find out how many folks got laid off these past few weeks? — read more

Is voluntary round next?

I kind of hope so. I’d be first in line to accept. I don’t hate my job or the company, but things are shifting just a bit too much for my taste. Might be the right time to look for greener pastures before it gets worse. So here’s hoping for a... — read more

A full RTO policy is a terrible strategy

We all know it’s just a way to drive attrition. They’re implementing it to make us more uncomfortable, inconvenienced, and under pressure—either we can’t comply for practical reasons or we’ll end up leaving on our own because we can barely manage it... — read more

Flex Fridays gone, what’s next?

First they announce full time RTO with just a single weekend to let us figure out accommodations, then they tell us we are expected to work on flex Fridays. What’s next, they take away sick days? 5-day RTO because no one is quitting from the 3-day... — read more

RTO su-ks but it's not the end.

Here in Plano, TX, I only know of one person fired. While we all think the RTO su-ks, it's still a good job that pays well and has great benefits so most of us are just mourning losing WFH but adapting.
