Can’t believe it’s here. Is anyone planning to skip this id--tic “mandate”? I have been remote 13 years in this company. Now I have to go sit in a random office by myself and do the exact same thing I would do at home. Thinking of skipping and... — read more
Bill has claimed custody of my children.
Single parent here. I have to send my kids to live with their grandparents this summer, over 120 miles away because I cannot afford summer camps or day cares. I'll get see them 2 days a week on weekends, whenever I'm NOT on-call.
Last day of flexibility
A sad day today. Fellow coworkers I’ve known for years are calling it quits today because of poor leadership, terrible pay, extremely sub-par raises and a crushing economy. But the real nail in the coffin, an expensive and pointless RTO5 policy... — read more
Biz Management Attempting to Void My Approval!
I went through the ADA accommodation process for 100% remote work, submitted medical documentation, and received written approval. After that approval, I was verbally told by business leadership that I still need to report onsite 3 days per... — read more
Imagine if nobody went in
If we all just ignored the new RTO requirement. What could they do to all of us?
How Flexable Are We Talking?
This entire thing will fall apart before it even begins on the 4th if we don't start getting some sort of direction. For example, I have to get my kids on/off the bus in the morn/afternoon. Is 9-2 or 10-3 acceptable in-office time? Who knows! What I... — read more
As much as it stinks...
Just please lets all look out for each other, and do what we are told. It's awful but working in an office beats getting fired for non-compliance and then not having one to work in at all... After all, it's what we all make of it.
All Hands 4/22
Hour long meeting full of insults. The idea that working in office will foster conversation and innovation is, as someone else has said, a fat load of kwap. There are SO many reasons for why this isn't going to go well on the 4th, but I don't want to... — read more

RTO email accidentally admits there aren’t enough seats
Got the RTO communication and this line stuck out: “Seating is prioritized for employees first, with unassigned areas and seats an option for contractors on an as-available, first-come, first-served basis” Read that carefully. They aren’t saying... — read more
Male dominated role switched to remote ahead of RTO mandate
I heard through the grapevine that a certain role in the private bank is being switched to remote ahead of the RTO mandate. This role has pretty much ignored all previous in-office mandates and is 90% men. Not a good look. Managers in other roles are... — read more
Who is actually working from office 8/9-5?
I'm not going to waste time going on and on about the same things but who is actually going in to work at 8/9 and staying till 5pm? Obviously RTO 5 days means working from the office all 5 days but there's no way in he-l the majority is willingly... — read more
RTO Accommodation declined — Help!!!

What is your RTO cost? $2k/month? $3k/month? More?

A load of Kwap
Did anyone else notice in the Kwapcast how they're already starting to soften the language about RTO? It was indicated that the reason they didn't go for a 3 day RTO is because they felt like they'd only be able to get people to do 1 and it was... — read more
Corporate travelers-meal expense limits
Hi. Any PNC corporate travelers out there? What are the real meal expense limits? Is it truly $20 for breakfast, $0 for lunch, and $40 for dinner? Also, are the meal time windows strictly observed? Thanks.

Another wave of RTO emails went out today. Just like this place to send out bad news on a Friday. RTO date set for June 15th for those who got the email.
Compensation Bands
Anyone notice that the compensation bands have been removed from the internal site? When asked, HR stated that the information has been removed for undisclosed reasons. Thoughts? Theories?
PNC is eliminating ABM position.
They had a meeting today with Branch managers and are announcing it to ABMs tomorrow. They will have until June 3rd to find a new job with PNC or otherwise
Rising costs and RTO
Gas prices jumping just in time for return to office! Who else is stoked?! Good thing my comp review rewarded me 800 extra dollars for the whole year! Just in time
Brilliant Leadership
Inspirational stuff from the 2026 Proxy Statement. Bill’s total compensation jumped from $22M to over $29M (32%) this year. Meanwhile, in the cubicles, we’re out here debating if our 1.5% merit raise covers the gas for the new 5-day RTO mandate... — read more

So is it really five full days?
I’m considering an offer at PNC but want to know what it’s actually like. Is it five full days? Do people badge in and then leave at lunch and work the rest of the day at home? I don’t think I can ever go back to five full days but the role seems... — read more

How are people willing to risk non-compliance?
I see many of my coworkers saying they plan to continue WFH despite the mandate. I'm jealous, honestly. But as the only income for my family, I can't take that chance. If they get fired, do they have a safety net? What's the thinking there? Genuinely... — read more
