Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Mike Lyons to become Truist CEO

He was working at PNC for 13 years. Any feedback about him, good or bad? Comment of his work style? What might he be executing at Truist?

Also, why did he leave PNC after such a long time. Passed over for CEO role?

Thank you - a Truist employee

RUMOR was that he left when it was clear he wasn’t going to be CEO. Who knows for sure. He is all the usual stuffs you read: laser focused, wicked smart, driven, etc. The difference between him and KK or BR is that I found him to be less “inspiring” or “gee wh-z” and more “get in here and grab a wrench”. He’s more utilitarian and expects results. He’s not going to “invite you to think about….” He’s going to tell what needs to happen and expect you to either do it or get out of the way.
You got a great leader, but if you want to be stronger you gotta expect to be sore. Get the Advil.
