I was laid off a few months after getting both from my last job. I was convinced I was safe, and I was not. I just thought people should know this, because I’m guessing this is true everywhere.

How can governments provide support to those who are laid off? One method would be to impose new taxation, similar to how companies raise revenue. Perhaps a percentage of both usage and storage charged to clients. Any other thoughts?
