Executive excited to increase share price rings hollow

In a recent forum an executive enthusiastically talked about quadrupling the share price and getting investors to value our company differently. I am sure he is excited sitting in his pile of RSUs. But he forgets that for average joe employees we get nothing when the stock price goes up. Heck they cut our 401k match rather than reduce their own dividend checks. Employees get zero benefit from the stock price changing.

Stock in freefall last 5-7 days and 9/24 rumors

So our stock is in a freefall and the only way to float the stock price is to cut expenses (overhead). We are spending money on fiber and need capital back. So 9/24 or whatever date in October is going to happen. We're bleeding money, and the iPhone isn't saving us. Most iPhone models are not in stock to ship till October. So Q3 is a dumpster fire at this point, hopefully Q4 is better. Either way I think we are all at risk, so bring on Dan the Hatchet Man.

Stock price at 46.26 now

Down roughly 2%, after first breaking the prior 52 week low at $47.01. Friday's close was $47.19.

Notable because the broader market is moving the opposite direction today. The Nasdaq was up about 1.5%, helped by falling oil prices and Treasury yields. So Fiserv's weakness continues to be company specific/relative underperformance rather than simply the market dragging it lower.

CVS stock

Does anyone have a line into investor relations or corporate communications who can tell us honestly why the stock is down $20 in the past two months. I know DJ and BN stumbled on the last earnings call giving the 2027 forecast, but there's no reason I can see why the stock is in free fall. Any wisdom that you have?

Happy to see Nike struggling

Hahaha! Left nike a couple years ago - nike was easily the worst managed company ever. Best decision ever.. sold my stocks at 75, my cool aid friends are still holding they have 50-150k worth stock.. they have sneaker collection rooms filled with Nike Junks.. I’m happy nike is suffering. NKE will soon hit 20s. EH is a clown’

Moynihan Opens Mouth With One Word Stock Drops Over 5 Percent

BM stated quarterly sales and trading revenue would be “flat” relative to a year ago. Just like that, BAC stock dropped over 5 percent. Revenue is not the only thing going "flat" at BAC. Has any group gained any new hires to make up for short staffing? In our group, another person just announced retirement and no replacement will be requested. Yep, "flat" everywhere at BAC to include our paychecks...

Nike's problem is that....

  • I was at Costco and it had cr-p load of Nike rolling around with shoes and clothings.
I did not find what I want but the price was unreal!
  • So I went to Nike store in the same mall. Besides I could not find any Nike high end running shoes, nobody approached me to ask if I needed help!!! They were busy talking each other.
I left Nike store without buying anything and disappointed at the brand.
  • My local running store that I shopped high end Nike running shoes closed their door
after Nike close their account in 2021! So I will have to drive another 20 miles to another running specialty. But this store was never Nike dealer so I will have to buy Brooks or Saucony, my second choice.
  • I was at Nike.com but I could find some running shoes but not all!!! I addition to it, I cannot feel or put on the shoes and feel it. And for a runner, that is a no no. Last time, I ordered from Nike.com, it took more than a week to ship out from Memphis warehouse. And I was not happy with the way Nike React Miler felt. And return was hassle in that I had to go to Fedex store to send it back.

I am former Nike employee.
And you can see why Nike stock is marching towards $20s.

Shopping the product is not easy.

9% down in the last 5 days

Interesting article below don’t let leaders tell you it’s the market norm the decline — looks like Stephanie and James did particularly well at Goldman Sachs Communacopia (sarcasm) - judging by the stock performance since.

It’s incredibly frustrating. At what point are the Board going to hold Stephanie and her leadership team accountable? The only thing they seem capable of running is a sinking ship.

Yesterday, Nike held to $37.00 by skin of its teeth!!!

I was suspecting that PK stepped in to buy to create support at that level. LOL JK

Today, NKE blew pass $37.00 as if it doesn't exist. And it comfortably found home at upper $36.00. That is if market will not turn south at the last hour of trading session.
So don't be surprised if ends the day at low $36.00

With Iran War, Trade War and Inflation as factor, I don't think anyone will step in and buy.

Nike is caught between rock and a hard place.

Trade Desk Reduces Workforce Amidst Financial Challenges

The Trade Desk has implemented a global workforce reduction affecting approximately 15% of its employees. This restructuring follows recent reports of disappointing quarterly earnings and a decline in stock value. CEO Jeff Green described the move as a reallocation of resources, not a sign of financial distress. The company stated it has substantial cash reserves and no debt. Despite these changes, The Trade Desk aims to maintain its core vision and mission.

So long, farewell Nike

BREAKING: Nike is set to be removed from the S&P 100 after nearly 18 years.

The stock is now down almost 80% from its 2021 peak, turning one of the market’s most iconic consumer brands into one of its biggest recent disappointments.

There’s a sad sort of clanging
From the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple, too;
And up in the nurs’ry
An absurd little bird
Is popping out to say “coo-coo.”
(Coo-coo, coo-coo.)
Regretfully they tell us
But firmly they compel us
To say goodbye to you . . .
So long, farewell,
Auf Wiedersehen, good night.

Layoffs incoming again.

Nike Leadership: Failing at a Level Most Employees Would Be Fired For

Watching Nike’s leadership discuss “winning” while the stock collapses from roughly $177 to $38 is like watching the captain of the Titanic accept an award for improving access to ocean views.

These people inherited the Swoosh, one of the most recognizable and valuable symbols in human history and somehow turned it into a case study in executive arrogance, strategic confusion and highly compensated mediocrity. It is genuinely impressive. Most people could not damage a brand this powerful without actively trying.

But accountability at Nike apparently works differently depending on your salary. When employees struggle, they are “low performers” who must be eliminated. When executives erase billions in shareholder value, weaken the marketplace and lose ground to smaller competitors, they receive bonuses, consultants and another opportunity to reorganize everyone beneath them.

Then comes the corporate theater: “Win Now.” “Sport Offense.” “Consumer-led.” “Future growth.” A seemingly endless vocabulary designed to disguise the inconvenient fact that the people constantly lecturing everyone about excellence have delivered one of the least excellent performances in Nike’s history.

The employees who actually designed, engineered, developed and delivered the product were treated as expenses. The executives who repeatedly misread the market were treated as visionaries. Now the share price provides the performance review leadership was apparently too important to receive.

From $177 to $38.

Just do it? They just did it, to themselves.

Nike does not suffer from a shortage of talent. It suffers from a surplus of executives who confuse authority with intelligence, meetings with progress and surviving their own failures with leadership.

The Swoosh deserves better. Employees deserved better. Shareholders deserved better.

But please, tell us again how eliminating more working people will finally correct the decisions made by the untouchable geniuses at the top.

Money where my mouth is….

Ok, enough is enough. We have a great company and I’m not sure why investors can’t see this opportunity. Everyone on here talking about low price of stock and I agree, so I bought 200 shares today. I don’t get any stock comp so I have to buy but this is about as low as I’ve ever seen in the 7 years I’ve worked.

Nike’s Greatest Innovation: Turning $200 Billion Into a PowerPoint Slogan

Nike never misses an opportunity to tell everyone it is the world’s most innovative company—a fearless champion of creativity, self-expression, and the rebellious spirit of sport.

Apparently, the latest expression of that innovative spirit is turning a $169 stock into a $39 stock.

That is a 78% collapse from its 2021 peak, roughly $200 billion in market value erased, a 12-year low, eight consecutive quarters of declining sales in China, Nike Direct revenue down 7%, digital sales down 12%, and the stock heading toward its worst annual performance since 1993.

But please, tell us more about “Win Now.”

Only Nike’s leadership could lose approximately $200 billion, fall behind younger and more innovative competitors, watch Jordan and Sportswear lose momentum, and still walk into the next all-hands meeting congratulating themselves for being courageous disruptors.

The company celebrates self-expression—as long as employees express exactly what leadership wants to hear. It celebrates risk-taking—as long as executives never risk their own jobs. It celebrates innovation—then eliminates experienced innovators, reorganizes the survivors, and expects a new corporate slogan to design the products consumers no longer see coming from Nike.

This isn’t innovation. It’s institutional arrogance wearing expensive sneakers and carrying a PowerPoint deck.

Nike’s greatest recent innovation may be discovering how to turn “Just Do It” into “Just Keep Saying Innovation Until Investors Stop Looking at the Numbers.”

They haven’t.
