After announcing major layoffs and the transfer of operations from Calgary to Edmonton, John Whelan has been completely absent. No follow-up email, no public address, and not even a presence in supervisor forums to discuss the impacts of the decision. Employees are left in uncertainty, while leadership has gone silent. It’s disappointing to see the person responsible for these major organizational changes disappear from view. Maybe he is busy setting up that "advocacy office" in Calgary....

Trane Technologies / ThermoKing layoff Oct 2025
Same stories as the Trane posting. Leaders want you to keep quiet.
Board MIA
Missing in Action

Paging the above…this is comical at this point. Bill’s legacy is already cemented in serial failures. This shows that a CEO should not also be Chairman. No checks and balances.
Earnings call should be entertaining.
I'm so confused
Can somebody PLEASE state if they've started notifying people already or if the layoffs will start sometime next week or at some other point in the future? The lack of available information is stressing me out, to put it mildly.
Nothing changes
After all the feedback, the Speak ups, the expressions of discontent- nothing changes. The CPO, VP of Operations and snakey HRBP (we all know who …k.a.) — still there. What a shame. AMN used to be a company that cared about its employees but those three have spread their greed and power tripping attitudes and toxicity wide and far. No longer am I proud to work at AMN. I’m disgusted and am biding my time until I can leave them high and dry. I have no desire to be associated with those three and am ashamed to even be a part of the HR team. I don’t know what more can be said before any action is taken. Probably take a lawsuit…. Well, be ready because that’s coming.
Pennington Announcement
Does anyone know when these cowards are going to get around to telling the folks in Pennington that the building is closing and that they will need to report to a different location if they want to keep their job?
Silence
The silence is deafening.
The very top is 100% silent.
Midmanagers are silent.
We hear only occasional comments from a manager or two.
The trust is lost. This is just a demonstration of a forever-changed culture.
I used to love working here.
Over, and out.
HCSC is a disaster
300 layoffs. Not everybody at the same time. People that has been with the company for more than 10 years were let go just a few days before Open Enrollment. When staff in key positions are let go, it usually signals something beyond “normal turnover.” It could affect severance, morale, and how the remaining team should respond. HCSC is a disaster, and they are using the washington argument to do that. It is a lie! No communication at all.
@a7+1k60xsqgh said it perfectly.
It’s about time for STIP payments, and…
…crickets.
For those who don’t get quarterly bonuses (like CM3s), this is the time of year we have been waiting for. Some sort of proof that the overwhelming workload and complete lack of recognition was at least a tiny bit worth it.
But still nothing announced. Except maybe that “merit” increase, small enough to be insulting.
It’s such a fantastic idea to keep us in the dark
I just can’t figure out the need for it. Is it so we can all be a little more out of our minds than usual, worrying and stressing nonstop?
So will the cuts reach 10%?
It’s so difficult to catch one or two actual pieces of information among all that completely unnerving corporate fluff. Here we are, having no clue about what will happen with our jobs, and we still have to listen to inordinate amounts of meaningless words. It’s disrespectful, at minimum. How about they lay out the details like grownups, so we can start scrambling for alternatives and backup plans?
Things feel heavy
Is it just me? Or are people in different parts of the company feeling this weird feeling of disconnection?
Feels like people don't communicate anymore. Even the executives don't. Like they've given up. People seem to be going through the motions.
Haven't really sensed this before 2025 but I am really feeling it and I can't shake it. Just wondering if I'm the only one.
Any more layoffs in 2025?
Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone has any tea to spill about the upcoming layoffs this year. Rumor has it there are more coming in November…
How was no major news announced?
Activity but nobody is talking…
Tired of getting denied for trainings
They always have "no budget"
No one goes to conferences, no one does anything to really push their career.
This company is just full of excuses for one thing another.
Im tired and done stagnating my career here.
Im getting off the titanic; everyone else should too but lets be honest if you are here for more than 5 years, you are already at the dead end of your career and everyone knows it
Anyone heard ~anything~ from new management?
It's been almost two weeks and our group has heard nothing beside the Ellison town hall. We're not even sure who we all technically report to now. Wondering if it's the same in other parts of the company.
For those who have 1:1s scheduled tomorrow
Wishing you the best of luck. It’s starting to feel more and more like silent layoffs may be underway. Hoping for clarity soon. Take care, everyone.
Layoff Talk kinda Quiet
Haven’t heard much about layoffs.
Everything revolving around the 4 days RTO.
Usually, there are confirmed rumors but right now there is a lot of silence. Not sure if company expecting people to quit and then see where to make cuts.
Like everything else, I’m expecting the leadership team to fail even when it comes to layoffs.
