2008 is the year the older members gave up on newer.

2008 the healthcare went away for new hires

2012 the pension went away

2016 techs started to become anti union and cross the line

2019 extended this cr-p

2022 techs become completely anti union. They threaten to cross the line if there’s a strike and give up on the rest of the union.

2026 why should I care if there no union in the union.

Boeing blackeye, & reduce pensions?

Star liner has been determined to be incompatible with man space flight by NASA.
This is a big black eye for Boeing.
I wonder what the path Forward is ?
Maybe, hire back some of the old retired engineers who had the tribal knowledge to build quality spacecraft.
I just hope that they don’t falter financially and reduce the pension for the retired employees.

Anyone retiring thinking between lump or annuity I would take lump see link

So remember you think you are guaranteed but honestly once the pensions were sold off they are no longer federally guaranteed it’s state regulatory guaranteed.Which is dependent on state .So NJ would be up to 250,000 .So if you have more your gambling.I believe. But here is one article https://www.americanretiree.com/post/verizon-retirees-object-to-5-9-billion-pension-spinoff

Retirement benefits from Gulfstream Aerospace

Gulfstream retired employees need to verify their pension programs and ensure they are being paid. It appears that Gulfstream is not paying all employees out of the Salary 1 1/3 pension plan and refuse to cooperate to resolve the solution. Example of employee with over 30 years of service and retired in 2019 and has been to be paid out of Salary 1 1/3 pension and has contacted Gulfstream, General Dynamics and Fidelity regarding the discrepancy and was informed by informed by Fidelity they were owed over $128, 744 in retropay but payment has yet to be made by Fidelity and Gulfstream and General Dynamics have continued to ignore the situation.

AT&T Pension via Fidelity

Noticed the estimated Lump Sum payout is LOWER for 2026 vs. 2025, which is both alarming and surprising - especially since interest rates declined in 2025 ….. so, I was expecting to see an increase in the Lump Sum amount. Anyone else experience this, and any insight or explanation ??

looking co details on sbc mw TA

I understand the TA is nearly identical to what wireline west, sw, and se got, but havnt seen the details of the sbc/ameritech tentative agreement they reached over a week ago. Can anyone share? I’ve read a 5% raise up front (4/11/26) pension band increases 1% year over year, 4 year agreement, kept article 26, mlk day off, and am i understanding no layoffs for the duration as well?

Check your pay

UK staff – with the recent change and standardisation of terms, have you checked your January pay advice? I’m finding it hard to tell whether mine is correct. What I can say is that my increased pension contribution was deducted from salary, but none of it has reached my pension this month.

Jumping ship?

I’ve agreed to go out for an interview with a competitor. Never thought it would be me looking for roles outside of XOM. I’ve enjoyed my career for the most part, and have generally been ranked well in my 10 years. Past couple of years I got 10%+ raises, but I feel like that’s just a fluke and worse times are around the corner.

It’s sometimes hard to picture leaving when I think of the long term pension and the comfortable career I have. Am I an id--t or is this the moment to leap into the unknown?

CWA retiree health benefits question 🙋‍♂️

Im 2 years away from the magic number 75=years of service + age min 50. Is it worth it to stay at VZ if you have a good opportunity offer with another company?

Will these benefits even be around in the future? Ill be 51 in two years theres no way i can stay here much longer. I heard the pension maxes out at 30 years service.

New Pension Estimates

I realize this post only applies to employees who were hired before 2008, because they've changed the way our pension is being calculated going forward. I just got around to looking at my new pension estimate for retirement and it decreased 57%. My pension was the one last thing I've been holding on to; really the only thing that was truly keeping me here. Now seeing my new pension number, knowing that giving 20+ more years would only add a measley amount - I have no reason now. Cheers to a new year and hopefully a new job!

Union negotiations so now it begins it’s all been planned

As I said months ago they already have a contract extension in place .Both sides just needed to make it look like there was so much between them.As though so much hard work had to be done .Now they sell us the bag that’s filled with you know what. They will say man we made progress it was a tough fight and this is what we got .So I think retirees best not get their hopes up the cost of the health is not reverting. The only hope you have is a cap of some sort. The raises will be just enough to cover the medical increase for active workers. The company as you know wants to wack the disability down so there goes that when the majority of us now at at a point we may need it.So here’s to 2026 best of luck brothers.Lets just hope they don’t sell out the lump for the pension carriers maybe they throw us a bone with another paid holiday like June 19

Verizon Pension

My Verizon net credit service is not recognized by Verizon benefits/pension, because I worked in three different parts of the company. I am literally days short of qualifying for my full unreduced pension benefit, even with them not recognizing all my years of service. This is just mind blowing to me having spent the majority of my adult life working for this company. I never would have imagined!

Pension

Per my contract I’m fully invested being with Cisco 5 years, so I’m not worried if I get laid off since I will get pension the rest of my life. The question I have, when I go back home will they deposit my monthly payment in my India bank?

Question, IF Robin completely destroys BNY…..

If Robin and his fellow board of ejector directors ruin BNY and run it into the ground, are pensions guaranteed and safe to those who were lucky enough to earn them? What about any medical benefits, 401K or money we paid into? Obviously BNY stock could bottom out but I would think pensions and benefits earned should be safe under the law?

Beginning to think it’s not a question if Robin could do this, but, when?

DXC Employers Pension Contributions in the UK

For those that are aware, from January DXC's "employer's" pension contributions will no longer be paid forusing our compensation packages. Instead DXC will pay them directly. Previously these contributions have been paid for out of our Flex funds which I have always thought as wrong. Its "Employers contributions" after all. "Employee's" contributions will remain to be charged to our Flex fund.

I'm glad that this appears to be rectified but its got me thinking that we've been unfairly charged by DXC for these contributions and this could add up to quite a significant amount.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It's a little bizaare for DXC to suddenly change their contributions. I would like to know what has driven this change.

Good times

I’m just sitting here reminiscing about the past 37 years working for Nynex/NYTel, Bell Atlantic/Verizon. The union, while certainly far from perfect, got me enough to get married, buy a house and raise 4 kids into adults while allowing my wife to stay home and raise them. Did they blow it with the tiered compensation/benefits for new hires? Yup. Did they bone over retirees with crushing health insurance costs starting in January? Yup. Could they have done better with pensions and lump sums? Yup. Did they spend way too much time and effort defending slug members who should have been fired? Yup. But overall It’s been a good ride with a good group of coworkers. Not sure if I’m gonna bail before August or hang for a bit longer, but either way it’s gonna be on my terms. As for the recently layed off folks, I feel for y’all - this company is as ruthless as it’s ever been and this guy Dan ain’t gonna be a bag of laughs for any of us. Cheers and good luck. AGB

Date to work through to get all of the bonuses/pension credit/401k match

Nothing new, but I am tired of dealing with this failing company, the layoffs of good employees, etc... so I'm looking for a new job at a growing company. I just want to make sure that I receive my LTI, deferred comp, pension credit, and 401k credit. Will working through 12/31 suffice or is it 2/28/26? Thanks!

old pension plan

After reviewing the information online and calling two different reps in the hr/retirement area, I cannot get an answer to my question. Does anyone know if the old pension plan - like from 2002 - has a lump sum withdrawal option? It seems like that might be a better bet if you are over 60.

IMO hits all time high in Canadian dollars

Looks like the shareholders are OK with Imperial Oil. I guess from a shareholder perspective, the company is doing OK.

Employees don’t want it to be like this too. After all, our pensions are tied to the company, and some of us will still get their salary from this company.

Don’t want bad for anyone, so happy to see that the stock price is going up.
