Zety Survey Finds US Workers Fear 2026 Layoffs

A recent Zety survey highlights American workers' concerns for 2026. Zety's report indicates 49 percent of workers anticipate more job cuts. A majority, 65 percent, expect the U.S. job market to remain stable or decline. Inflation concerns and fewer remote jobs also trouble workers. AI and automation competition worries 48 percent of respondents.

TFB Sound off

Here we are end of January and still no clear direction of what’s ahead of us. RoE’s / Dirty Data, “stay tuned”
After GF all hands call last week… I’m feeling we are about to see a HUGE jump in quota this year.

I will say that I was thankful leadership recognized the cluster F of a rollout this was and making us whole for January was the T-Mobile I remember.

Tenure Patterns?

Hi - someone earlier in the week posted a thread asking for ages, and wonder if we can do the same for tenure. Trying to gauge if they’re laying off people who have been with the company a minimum of say, 3 years, or if it’s random and even people who have been around 1 year or less are being let go too…

2026 final layoff numbers…..

Lots of post about not knowing the total layoff numbers for 2026. A few things:

  • There is no final number YET. Layoffs are still happening at least through the end of this month. Maybe into February.

  • Those impacted are technically are garden leave until April 2nd and are still on the payroll.

  • April 2nd, is when the RIF numbers will be in warn and when the media will start to report on it. That’s when you will get the final number of people let go.

No conspiracy or withholding information. That’s how the process works.

10k RIF is the rumor, we will see if it’s true.

You know what su-ks?

No matter how long you've been here, how much knowledge and experience you have, you have the same chance of being laid off as somebody who just joined. Everything you did here in the past decade or however long doesn't matter. And that truly su-ks.

What is being asked of leaders?

Can someone please share the directives coming down right now? Every leader seems even more in a scramble this week than the last 8 combined.
Yes it’s clear layoffs happened this week, but it’s something more. I had vaguely overheard, I was trying not to be obvious, about a directive that was given from HR about a RTO mandate. As in some directive about a larger mandate to ensure employees are in hubs and not remote. What is going on? All of us see and sense something.

tic.....tic.....tic..........

Word is new seating assignments have been announced in Deerfield support office. But that the areas assignments for the most part aren't big enough to accommodate all the team members. Also, that the parking lot will be 325-350'ish spots short once OPO staff join in Deerfield in 10 days. Anyone hearing anything else? Feels too quiet this week.

I feel like I'm waiting for a slab of concrete to fall on my head

I'm in one of those bad stretches in life when problems just pile up - family issues, aging parents, health stuff. Everything's breaking down all at once, and the bills keep piling up. I'd probably handle the job uncertainty better if everything else wasn't falling apart. As it is, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and make it complete.
