Thread regarding Comcast layoffs

How are people being notified?

1:1? A phone call? An email? Something else? What should we be looking for?

In the June round, I found out I was being laid off when walked into my normal weekly 1:1 with my manager to see a HR person sitting there too. Zero warning. Su-ked.

@a9 I had a meeting added to my calendar less than two hours ahead of time, when a rep from HR joined the call, it was immediately clear what it was about.

I feel for those affected. No matter what, turn whatever happens into a win. It might take a while to work through any shock, grief, or anger. Give yourself some time and thenspin this change into gold.

Honestly, it could be anything. It might be a quick 10–15-minute call with you and HR that gets thrown on your calendar the same day, or something bigger, like what they did last year with certain divisions. Back then, they split everyone into two groups: one for the people being let go and another for those staying. So it’s pretty much a toss-up at this point.
