To my Paramount family

Just wanted to leave a note as this chapter at Paramount wraps up for me. What a wild ride it’s been an absolute privilege to share the chaos, creativity, and caffeine with this team.

I’m so proud of what we built together, the impossible deadlines we somehow pulled off. And even when things went sideways, we learned, laughed, and rolled with it.

It’s rare to find a team that makes the hard days lighter and the good days even better. I’ll carry these memories and probably too many Slack screenshots with me wherever I go next.

To my Paramount family: thanks for the madness, the magic, and everything in between. Keep making amazing stuff, and keep taking care of each other. 💙

Layoff on Maternity Leave

Did anyone else get laid off while on maternity leave? Do you know how it’s impacted?

HR was no help in getting clarity before I lost access to my email, etc. on Tuesday. I’ve only been on leave for 3 weeks, so not sure if there are legal obligations for Target to fulfill my full approved leave or if it can just end.

Curious if others in a similar situation have heard more on it.

Intel should learn from Amazon

No one was expecting the Amazon layoff. It gets reported by Reuters on Monday. On Tuesday Amazon completes the layoff of 14K employees. It is over and done. The workforce can move on. Way better than the Intel method of announcing the layoffs before they are even planned, the workforce agonizes for 6 months, and then they take 3 months to finally get it over.

I don't feel safe

Yes, I survived this round but I think we all know this is far from over. I'm supposed to feel relief, but here I am, already thinking about the next round and still unable to sleep. All I know is that I'll double my efforts to find something else, because this is not healthy in any way, shape, or form.

Voluntary Layoffs an option?

I don’t think that this is the end of the layoffs and I don’t want to stick around and be exploited by taking on the workload of the people who were laid off while having to fake being grateful about it. I want to know if it’s feasible to ask HR if they’ll let me volunteer to be laid off since they need to cut costs and I want a severance package exit.

Planning to give my notice

I can’t live in fear till January and work like a dog every day. Sick and tired of training TII knowing that they will take my job.

We can’t f*cking accelerate if half my team including some high performers are laid off (probably because they were remote)

If I make it beyond April, there is no way I will get more than 50% of bonus and 2% hike in salary.

And this is not the Target I know for the last 15 years. We neither caring, nor growing and definitely not winning. Our culture is a sham.

Most of these people were let go
https://corporate.target.com/careers/culture

The finance guy will be working us to our bones and then lay us off after peak.

Business is Business

First, I am sad to hear about the extensive layoffs at Target.

After reading these posts it seems like half your company walks around with rainbow mohawks. If you would just concentrate on selling what people want in a clean store you should be able to stomp Walmart, but no... you had to try and be a DEI/social justice warrior. It feels like you are going to get robbed just walking into Walmart (some literally have police presence 24/7), and people are choosing that over your stores - let that sink in. Please please please get back to core business, I am rooting for you believe it or not.

Target Does Not Care

Your leader knew and did not tell you sooner.

The person who shook your hand and smiled at you in the elevator knew and didnt tell you sooner.

The Meetings you were not invited to was not coincidence but deliberate.

The Conference you went to and your Sr. Leader said your jobs were safe... lied to you.

Those friends that say they will keep in touch, soon will fade. Remember this for you are even in this situation again you will be able to read the signs sooner.

SAS pulling the plug on certain regions . . .

Welp. Was checking my email and just got the news.

Whoever predicted that things have been a little too quiet recently was right on the money.

It's a shame, I've worked with many developers and testers from the region and have been helped countless times by them. For me this comes as a huge shock and honestly makes me pretty sad..

Hoping everyone will get along fine over there.. but damn

Genentech laid off 118 employees

Roche’s Genentech unit is laying off staff at its Bay Area headquarters for at least the third time this year, saying goodbye to 118 employees in a workforce reduction that spans multiple departments.

Chevron has single handedly destroyed the oil and gas work force in Colorado!

We’re talking betrayal. We’re talking families packing up U-Hauls in the dead of night. And yeah, we’re calling it out: Chevron’s big-money grab on PDC Energy back in ‘23? It straight-up gutted our oil and gas workforce here in Colorado. Let’s unpack why this merger turned our bo-m into a bust.

Remember when Chevron swooped in with that $7.6 billion all-stock deal for PDC? They painted it as some powerhouse combo – “largest producer in Colorado,” 1,000+ drilling permits, free cash flow for days. Sounded like job heaven, right? PDC was us – Denver-based, boots-on-the-ground in the DJ Basin, keeping rigs humming and paychecks steady. But fast-forward to 2025, and Chevron’s playing a different game. Global cuts? Up to 20% of their workforce gone by ‘26, slashing $3 billion in costs. Here in the Mile High? 125 souls from their Denver office shown the door starting July 1st. That’s not just numbers – that’s roughnecks, geologists, admins who coached Little League and bought rounds at the Water Course.
But wait, it gets uglier. Brownfield sites? The ones PDC was reworking like pros? Work’s nearly halted. Companies that sunk cash into upgrades for Chevron’s “efficiencies”? They’re idling equipment, laying off crews, folding tents. And the rigs? Man, the DJ-Niobrara rig count cratered to just 5 by May – lowest since the pandemic slump. Chevron’s not immune; whispers from the patch say they’re down to a skeleton crew – one rig spinning where PDC had multiples turning ’round the clock. Drilling deferred, completions paused. Why? Centralized hubs over local know-how. Sell off $2 billion in pipelines to some faceless buyer, ship decisions to Houston. Efficiency, they call it. Devastation, we call it!

Our communities – Greeley, Windsor, the whole Front Range – built on this black gold. Schools funded, diners packed, youth football thriving. Now? Ghost towns in the making. Chevron’s “stronger future” pitch? It’s stronger for their shareholders, weaker for us.

Look, I ain’t anti-big oil – he-l, this industry’s in my blood. But when a merger like Chevron-PDC promises growth and delivers ghost rigs? We have to speak up!

Now they are moving in ksi and pushing out what’s left of the family owned local companies. Chevron will be using fortress, 1888/4x and KSI so good luck to all you contractors here soon you will be replaced and chevron does not care one bit they will just weed you out and make you want to leave!

LET ME REPEAT CHEVRON DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER NOTHING MORE OR LESS.

Wells Fargo layoffs could grow even more than originally expected, executives say

https://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/news/2025/10/14/layoffs-wells-fargo-job-cuts-wfc-severance-expense.html

The San Francisco-based bank has cut almost a fourth of its workforce from a peak five years ago, and the bank is still shedding staff.

No point moving to Charlotte or NYC if they ask you to move. Instead take a package/severance and bail out because you may move and then let go in 6 months. No loyalty left or value for talent. It is all about cutting cost as promised to the board by Charlie and getting his Bonus before bailing out of Wells.

BNY PAC?!?

Support the BNY PAC ?? Anyone see Robin's message?
for what? To fund politicians who don't care about rule of law??

freaking ridiculous.
While we get replaced by AI??
30,000 corporate Amazon employees will be flooding the job market because of AI. Good luck competing with those people.

We're all going to need UBI soon, if not food stamps.

Karma

These corporations seem to have no idea how to address any of their issues other than to lay people off. They do it to please the shareholders, however everyone else is stressed out. They wonder why employees have no loyalty to their company anymore? It's because corporations don't care about them. Shop local, buy local. Buy as much as possible from small businesses in your community. That money stays in your community and doesn't line a shareholders pocket. Sc--w them. Take your power back. Between robotics and AI, nobody is going to have jobs in a few years unless it's serving at the feet of the rich.

Fiserv flames are hitting hard at clover

Merchant Solutions grew 5% for the quarter, with small business organic revenue growth at 6% and Clover revenue up 26%. SaaS penetration in Clover reached 26%.

  • Gutted the clover like anything still performing better than actual $FI.

Clover keeping alive FI if not for clover, This stock would plunge to be a penny stock.

Disgusted and frustrated EVPs and SVPs. Please chime in and help your hard working associates

Please please chime in and share some info here. When is the next big RIF that we will bombarded with while the mafia Frankenstein and his minion gang will savor an expensive drink over the rocks in their mansions watching associates and their families getting devastated already struggling to put food on the table !!! Shame on Frank B. and his fcky minions - you all shall be imprisoned. Karma will chase you down , wait and watch.

I want Bisignano and his minions imprisoned

So the bottom has finally fallen out, huh?! The smoke has dissipated and the mirrors shattered. The Bisignano scam has been exposed. Now shareholders are left to hold the bag?l. All those ppl whose compensation was tied to stock shares. Sc--wed. Meanwhile, Bisignano has cashed out and is off probably finding ways to ruin social security at the behest of his sc-mb@g boss.

What will it take to get this clown and his minions imprisoned? What lessons can we learn from this? One thing that I've learned is I won't be accepting any compensation that's tied to stock. Give me my cash and I'll invest it on the market as I see fit.

Prepare for more layoffs while fck boi Frank with his seared conscience enjoys the money he stole from us.

This is disgraceful.
