Who is next in EU?

Despite Oracle's strong Q1 performance and a 30% increase in share price, the company has announced a planned restructuring across its EEA operations, proposing a reduction of up to 2,000 roles across multiple lines of business. This initiative aims to rebalance costs, streamline operations, and reinvest in AI and data center capacity. The exact number of impacted positions in each country remains unfinalized, pending local legal consultations and regulatory requirements. Where feasible, Oracle may offer options like voluntary redundancy or early retirement, though availability may vary across EEA countries. How Oracle will compensate the thousands of employees affected by these layoffs worldwide remains unclear, with details on support programs like retraining or career transition assistance yet to be fully disclosed.

More job cuts expected this fall

JP Morgan has announced another round of layoffs expected to happen by the end of November, impacting employees in Jersey City.
YNAP corp. is also reported to be facing some financial challenges and plans to close its US office by Nov. 15th.
Also, BioReference Health layoffs are expected to end by mid-September laying off 69 employees in Elmwood Park.

Nurses faced layoffs in Austin

At least a dozen nurses were notified of upcoming layoffs based on an 'HR algorithm.
For now, the situation remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: this isn’t just about layoffs. It’s about the ripple effect on a close-knit community, the patients who rely on Mayo Clinic, and the future of nursing in southern Minnesota.

Not going to be in management anymore

I stepped out of my management position and took an IC role at the same level. Using managers the way that Dell wants to use them just doesn’t align with my ethics and career goals. You aren’t really doing any productive, laying off people left and right and there is absolutely no appetite for any original thought or ideas. No want for innovation either and absolutely zero growth.

Why would I want to stay in any managerial role at all? Unless you really just want to make PowerPoints, sc--w people over, kiss a$$ and lay people off then I don’t see the point anymore here at Dell.

Does anybody buy this?

No matter what happens, do yourself a favor and be prepared

Whether or not cuts are announced, it doesn’t change the fact that employees need to be ready. Preparing yourself mentally and financially for the worst-case scenario is the only way to avoid being blindsided by sudden changes. And working at Truist and everything that comes with it, it's a must.

Why are we hiring?

I’m not even talking about offshoring. There are plenty of openings right here in the US. Why is the company hiring people if we’re supposedly in such a terrible position that we need to lay off a large chunk of the workforce worldwide?

Layoffs delayed

The midnight shift cut at the General Motors' Oshawa plant has been postponed to Jan. 30, 2026, the company and the union representing workers confirmed on Tuesday.

The constant threat of layoffs combined with shifting expectations is exhausting

I swear, one day your role is critical, and the next you’re suddenly behind on metrics no one properly explained. With layoffs always looming, it’s even more stressful to deal with. I don’t know how much longer I can take this and protect my mental health.

10 percent is just the start

This is the opening salvo. If we’re spared and it all hits Ansys’ side, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we hear about more cuts on our side soon after. No acquisition of this magnitude happens without major workforce realignments, and this will be no different. I’ve already started applying, just in case.

Revere Health plans Utah layoffs

I can’t believe how ridiculous this place is

Every decision needs ten approvals, processes are unnecessarily complicated, and I spend half my day putting out fires I didn’t create. I was hired to innovate, not babysit broken systems. I'm shocked Visa ever needs layoffs considering how many are walking away from this mess voluntarily.

Layoffs at Delta Air Lines-backed Wheels Up

This is very much intentional

Letting us wait like this, creating unnecessary stress, having the entire workforce worry about our jobs... No way in he-l this is not intentional and aimed at getting some of us to quit. Their goal is to create atmosphere so stressful, so chaotic, so toxic, that people will walk away even without severance. I'm guaranteeing you this is their plan.

Tips for layoffs

On the day of the lay-off please keep your cool and don’t burn any bridges. You may need these contacts going forward. Just remember it is probably not within your immediate supervisors control to decide who gets laid off. It is likely the next level up who decides so you can think poorly of them but do not harm anyone. After all they are just doing their job. There is a whole lifetime ahead of you to have really evil thoughts about these people who messed your life up. That you can look forward to because it will not go away.

Bad Public Relations Press

I wonder if we are going to soon hear some bad public relations press about Humana in coming days?

Perhaps even on some local news stations. I know I will be paying attention.

And I am sure some law firms phones are ringing off the hook these days.
