taking the deal and getting the fu-k out of the sinking ship or waiting for the ax?
I’ve been job hunting like crazy for months
There’s absolutely nothing. I don’t know if it’s just bad luck or if the market is really this broken. If anyone has even the smallest positive story, please share. I need to hear that someone out there actually managed to land a decent job, or at... — read more
RTO Announced
Phase 1 - Jan 5 for people assigned to LA and NYC offices Phase 2 - TBA in 2026 for all other employees
Start looking now
It really doesn’t matter if you think you’re safe from layoffs or not, because the job market right now is the worst it has been in years. Employers seem to be taking revenge for the Great Resignation, and that means not only is it tough to find a... — read more
What changes to expect in 2026?
Does anyone know what we should expect for 2026 under Skydance as far as benefits, RTO, Vacation etc?
PK posted on IG
PK finally posted after her long vacation a picture of 1515 broadway with the moon man outside (current) on her IG stories. I’m thinking why post that if you’re on your way out? Maybe an indicator she’s not on the way out?
Senior Level Departures...
Starting to see some senior level departures on LinkedIn the past 2 days. Just saw the Head of Paramount Research leaving. Saw another one related to Marketing. What are people hearing/seeing?
RTO in January 2026
We were told today RTO will be 5 days in January 2026. Can anyone in HR confirm this? What about remote workers? Will they be required to relocate near a corporate office (i.e. LA or NY) or will exceptions be made for some?
Severance
Can anyone in HR confirm that SK will follow what has previously been done regarding severence with layoffs? 2 weeks per year?
No email about logging off at 1pm?
A bad sign?
What’s happening with Pk cp org?
So much convo from numerous topics. From reading sounds like pk is safe and reporting into Rebecca mall? What has everyone else heard?
What departments will be affected the most?
13-15% will be laid off by November. What parts of Paramount will be cut the most? Curious as to what others are predicting. Best luck to all of you - some of the nicest and most talented people I've ever worked with.

I'm just as worried about what happens after
Yes, I'm worried about layoffs, but if I'm still here when it's done, I know we'll be facing major changes in how things are done, and I seriously doubt any of them will benefit the employees. I think our work is about to become much harder and... — read more

Any intel on how RTO locations will be assigned?
Anyone have info on what RTO will look like aside from it being implemented next year and which divisions will be at which location?
Any information on what will happen with remote workers?
Especially those who simply can’t commute. I’ve been hearing all kinds of rumors, but nothing that sounds completely credible.
managers, what's your plan for dealing with this?
If I was an individual contributor it might be easier to focus on the work by day while preparing a job search at night. But I have direct reports looking to me for clarity, people who are worried and hoping for answers, raises, and promotions... — read more
When is the brunt of it going to happen?
Is it going to be this coming week?
Wfh tomorrow
Were you told it’s optional go work from home tomorrow? What does that mean?
How much savings you got? I got next to nothing :( :(
Seeing that the layoffs are coming, a lot of people will be impacted and will be forced to dig into them savings. How much do all of y'all have saved up? I've got next to nothing.
I’d have only one real regret if I’m laid off
My team. When I joined four years ago, I landed in the best team I’ve ever worked with in my entire career. Not only was there zero toxicity, which is rare enough, but people genuinely had each other’s backs. We weathered countless crises and... — read more
I hate having to wait
Knowing layoffs are coming is destroying me mentally. It’s Saturday and I can’t relax. My mind keeps spinning about what’s next. I just wish they would get it over with so we could either focus on work or start looking for something new if we are... — read more

Any truth to 6k being a target?
This sounds a bit too much, but then again… 6k is 1/3. That’s the number. That gets the staffing to about 12k which is roughly half of what it was pre covid. That’s a huge reduction. With increasing output and content the goal is double the... — read more
I'm not that worried about layoffs
Severance takes care of that. What worries me is the new owner going full “let’s save as much money as possible” and PIPing people left and right, whether they deserve it or not. It wouldn’t be the first time something like that was done to cut... — read more
Anyone heard ~anything~ from new management?
It's been almost two weeks and our group has heard nothing beside the Ellison town hall. We're not even sure who we all technically report to now. Wondering if it's the same in other parts of the company.
Anxiety Builds at CBS News Over Potential Moves by Skydance

Getting laid off is starting to feel like it might be a blessing
They’ve been piling more and more work on us with each passing month. Every layoff just makes things worse for those left behind. We’d carry the weight if it felt like it was building toward something. But it’s not. Or if it were just temporary. But... — read more
When will the layoffs happen?
I hate this period of not knowing so I am trying to get a sense of when these would happen. I know no one knows yet, but does anyone have any guesses or inside information?
Will layoffs be dragged out?
Is there a chance it'll all be done in a single day?
I'm preparing a way out
Even if I’m not laid off, I’m not staying. I don’t give a damn what they claim about this being a one time thing. I don’t trust them. Management has burned us too many times, so now I always expect the worst. The moment I find something better, I’m... — read more

BET Department Mergers
Wanted to see if what was said in a previously thread is true. Is BET merging departments in the near future?
Let’s wrap up the layoffs quickly
Communicate the timeline clearly. Dragging this out would only prolong the anxiety and disruption in our lives. A process that stretches on for months, without any of us knowing if or when the axe will fall, is both a disservice and deeply... — read more
