The Stankey Way, $14.4B for $2B

Don't worry we are right sizing the business..... The company wants to exit the market after struggling to take market share from Carlos Slim's Telcel. AT&T entered the market back in 2014 after acquiring Grupo Iusacell SA for $2.5bn, before... — read more

Mandatory Meetings Over Employee Survey

Why are we forced to attend mandatory meeting about the survey? Now all of a sudden they are PRETENDING to care? Oh please, I have a bridge to sell you too. Stankey made it very clear in the email what they are all about. Nothing left to say.

The project is broken

I have confess. I does do the workings of project in undisclose role. We does play the ping pong with codings. We check the codes in and other checks the code out of the git. We are looking the busy all day but now we make on the demo soon. I make... — read more

Corporate Job in Technology

I see a lot of negative feedback about AT&T. I have a decent offer for a job in Dallas HQ in Product/Technology management. 5 days a week in office doesn't bother me, all my roles have been that way. Is it really as bad as everyone makes it out to... — read more

SBC Culture on Steroids

When Cingular was formed and Bellsouth And SBC got together I can remember how obtuse, aggressive, bullying, and aggressive many of the SBC people were. All they could do was see a nail and hammer and just wack and pound away at things. Not much... — read more

Stankey is a Corporate Plantation Master

Yes that will definitely attract young talent. The stink of the stank will linger long after he's gone. Hey we want you in your desk 5 days a week but you don't get an office or a desk to put up a picture, have a coffee mug, or some little chotzky to... — read more

Layoffs, 401k, pension or cash balance

Doing well in my 401k the avg. is approximately 15% over last ten yrs, 9.96% to date this year. The 401k is more than 2.5x of my pension which is a little less than 200k and growing slowly. The majority is in S&P 500, retirement date fund and... — read more

Sales Force

So OPUS worked perfectly fine and we purchase salesforce, cause some lemming in corporate is getting kickbacks for buying into it. Now when we " try " and work with a customer, we are forced to use salesforce, which takes 2-3 minutes to load on our... — read more

He was pleased by the rate of participation

Couldn’t be more proud of my coworkers who gave honest opinions on the employee satisfaction survey. You clearly hit a nerve and triggered a historic response. He fell for it and went viral. Next step. We no longer participate in your surveys.

How to get layer off

Retirement age soon. I don't need the severance but it would be sweet karma if I asked to get layed off after decades of ducking it. How do you ask? Our org is hiring. Could it still happen? Real advice please. Sarcasm doesn't help. Thanks in... — read more

DR’s have to write survey action plan?

Our manager met with us to go over their survey results. They weren’t good. Now they are asking us (their direct reports) to write their action plan on being a better manager - this is exactly what a manager does and not a leader.

It’s funny that we’re even discussing loyalty

It’s been gone for so long, I don’t get why it’s still a topic. I guess we all had to pretend for a while, until it stopped being sustainable and no amount of corpo fluff could cover it up anymore. Our workplaces became theaters of cruelty and... — read more

Remember August 1, 2025

Never take another survey again, of any kind. If participation is below 50% it’s invalidated. That’s the only way to fight back now. You’ll never see the results of this survey, just like the last one.

A letter from the C.E.O

Get Off My Lawn, Kids!

Stank is hilarious. Two years ago eating hot peppers in flannel jammies, now touting the tough grandpa image to get back to work. What a lump of play dough! Retire and chase kids off your lawn already.

Loyalty is Dead!

AT&T CEO John Stankey's viral memo says the quiet part out loud about the broken state of the corporate workplace. https://www.businessinsider.com/att-ceo-memo-workplace-loyalty-dead-employees-job-security-2025-8

Stank’s Email

I’m glad we’re putting an end to the AT&T welfare system. Y'all can go work security on the night shift and sit around doing nothing or move back in with your parents and do as much WFH as you did previously.
