Earnings report

Things are not looking good right now. With earnings and EPS both down, I’m really starting to worry that more layoffs are coming. Cutting headcount is the fastest way to calm shareholders, even if it wrecks morale. I hope I’m wrong, but it’s hard to... — read more

Long Term Care Policies

This week's mailing for Met employee group LTC is quite the shocker. Demanding people take either a 10 year rate lock skyrocketing their policy premiums or a Lifetime rate lock with will double their premiums for life. The 10 year lock has a lot of... — read more

4 hours of cheerleading and drivel

I would rather jam pencils in my eardrums than listen to 4 hours of what could have been an email to my area of business. Until they start addressing staffing and compensation people will continue to leave in droves.

MetLife GTO – A Masterclass in Mediocrity

Bad experience with a job search

I've been feeling really demoralized. I want to leave Met, if for no other reason than just for a change of scenery. Of course, there are many other reasons as well. I've been searching for months and have only landed two interviews. Both were... — read more

Toxic team enabled by a toxic manager

How do you even deal with a combo like that? I can barely do my job. The manager thrives on drama and jumps in just to stir sh-t up even more. A few of us are carrying most of the workload, while everyone else is busy with backstabbing, gossip, and... — read more

I need people to stop

The hard truth about MetLife

Go above and beyond, and you’ll just get handed everyone else’s unfinished work. Managers love to preach “teamwork” when it really means “carry the slackers.” Meanwhile, the only real path up is mastering corporate politics, actual results barely... — read more
