Each trip from US or Amsterdam must cost around $15K (USD). Business class is around $7K. Then hotel + meals + transport. It all adds up. Kind of interesting that I see people going to Bangalore who have very little decision making power.

The tu-d bucket Shankar is back
As an employee, the optics of this look absolutely horrible. You tell us people are going to be fired, yet this turdass is traveling around doing no real tech work—just parroting buzzwords. Instead of flying this tu-d business class, why not use those funds to buy pizzas for local teams once a month, let them feel safe, raise questions, and then have turdass Shankar address those questions from a Zoom call? That would boost morale and actually make management look like they care.
Why is this humanoid marshmallow floating around? If the company is strapped for cash, why can’t Shankar run his self-important AMA over Zoom? Who approves this nonsense? Come on now, step up and start cutting back on unnecessary travel. Plenty of teams have members scattered across the globe who would love approval to meet their colleagues in person, instead of funding boy NoShank’s excursions to dine on international cuisine while sweating up his smelly behind. Synopsys, do better: stop slacking, cut back on needless costs, and focus on saving jobs instead of firing people. Wasting money on Shankar’s travel needs to stop, leadership must take charge, cut back on this waste, and show real accountability.
SCM 'leadership'
OE - and NE in general - will be better off once the ,leadership' of SCM is replaced with an actual leader. The absentee / remote attempt of management is an experiment that has gone on far too long. Week-long trips to Houston and Gdansk every couple of months (aka company paid vacations) fail to address the needs of the department and the company.
Strike Voluntold
We were told today that if they don't get enough volunteers for strike relief that management will do a mandatory selection. How is it that they can tell non-union employees that they have to travel and work outside of their home state and cross union lines. Is management within their right to fire employees if they don't volunteer. There is even talk of volunteers being shielded from an upcoming RIF. This all just sounds a little too nuts to be true, doesn't it?
ALL VP+ summoned to Possible. Seriously?
Word on the street is that new CAO Scot Rogers summoned ALL VP+ roles from around the world to Possible LA this week. Everyone VP and above. Seriously? Why? Most of those people have zero to do with sales or customers. That's a TON of expense for a company that is underperforming at epic levels and laying off really good people every few months. Has anyone at the top even looked at the stock price recently? TD is being SO poorly managed. Why hasn't the Board fired Steve McMillan yet? He's clearly incapable of steering the ship around the giant iceberg directly in front of him.
Hertz could solve all their financial problems by doing one thing.
There are enough locations that IF Hertz allowed scheduling based on performance 100% rather than longevity having any merit to a schedule, then you would have your money driven top performers taking the most transactions lately resulting in a revenue surplus.
What grocery store has their oldest cashier who is not efficient just because they’ve been with the company for a long time?
Or do we continue paying these over paid hourly employees to resolve little to no revenue which the company is scraping to attain to pay the positions that are duplicated, tripled, top heavy…
Cost saving but VP keep travelling across all sites
A lot of medtronic sites doing cost saving but VP level still can have business trip with just to have meeting on site, why can’t do online meeting which can have cost saving
Sabre Air Shopping Press Release Sept 25 - It is Misleading and False
Sabre put out a PR on Sept 25 saying Sabre GDS shopping produced lower fares 49% of the time compared to airline.com. Airline.com did better only on 1% of searches. A comparison of Sabre GDS Shopping to airline.com is meaningless. airline.com does not have corp fares or negotiated fares. So the comparison is apples to oranges. If anything the comparison should be against airline direct content with NDC. Very misleading PR and this is an embarrassment.
If the KRK shopping team and marketing came up with this analysis (who else could have?), they should be fired.
BDR directors
Sometimes I'm puzzled by the director of business development position. It feels like their main tasks, attending calls and presenting targets at QBRs,are things that any competent manager could easily handle. The most confusing part is their constant international travel to meet with BDRs. It seems like a lot of time and resources for meetings that could be more efficient in other ways. One of the directors is visiting Europe currently and why? To meet BDRs.
Polaris LT site visit
Flying and doing nothing again? another wasteful business trip just for them to enjoy pampering on business classes and fine dining at the sites.

Market Factors and Rotators
Does anyone have any reliable information about how the Edge Project may affect Cost of Living allowances (Market Correction Factor) and rotator travel allowances for Kennedy, Alaska etc.?
