It was good to see that Finance were taking budget control matters so seriously that they held a large, global F2F meeting in San Diego.

Hope the bbq at the boss's mansion limited the catering budget.

33 Directors + 3 VPs + 2 SVPs = A tone-deaf waste of time and money.

The math is hard to ignore - between flights, lodging, meals, and lost working hours, this easily represents close to a half-million dollar investment. For that expense, I'd expect a concrete deliverable: a roadmap, reorg decision, or a prioritized set of initiatives with owners and dates. As far as I can tell, none of that has materialized - nor will it. No memo, no readout, no change in direction.

This seems like a good moment to ask a harder question: why does IT currently support a director population this large relative to its actual scope of delivery? A retreat of this size implies a leadership bench that, on paper, should be shaping strategy, but the day-to-day experience for most of the org is that priorities shift reactively, tickets sit unworked, and nobody below the director layer can point to what these roles are actually accountable for.

If 39 directors and above can be pulled out of the building for a week with no discernible business impact, it's evidence the roles themselves may be over-provisioned.

Trying to justify the spend on those retreats where execs just drink and have “meetings” and then talking about ROI from ONE encounter where someone clicked to our website. All a sham

Interesting to see that MGO is laying people off while at the same time having an insanely expensive love-in in Dallas for three days in May. Flying in everyone from outside of Dallas, the whole thing.

Did this in 2024 just a couple of weeks after another layoff round. This for now at least looks slightly less bad but still. Kind of nauseating watch Kellyn and friends yap about how great everything is after they ax a bunch of people.

So the EC schlep to Lexington this week, spending first class money we don’t have, having another day off work and away from clients. But did they actually achieve anything that could not have been done remotely (or even at all)? I no the answer is no but it would nice to be told I’m wrong

Noticed a huge increase in offsites, townhalls they spend millions on but no decent wage increase/bonuses for the peasants. The offsites are constant now. I’ve never seen this before. All while plotting to cut you job.

Whenever we have these off sites for our division, I always feel like we leave with more questions than answers. Just once , it would be good to have GPs that can answer questions directly vs wishy washy unclear responses.

All management just left to go to an off-site meeting...

Rumor is there were offsite meetings yesterday and today between ULT and HR! Is something huge coming?!!
