Washington, D.C. – Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) today released the following statement in support of terminating Oracle Cerner’s electronic health record (EHR) system: “The Oracle Cerner electronic health record... — read more
Any news on anymore layoffs at the big O?
I've heard certain people in the CEGBU got cut in the last few weeks, Retail GBU and others cut ISR teams and marketing. CX cut a bunch last year and DB OnPrem are dropping people like they're hot. Any updates on any other divisions?
Is that really true?
It is often said that managers normally do not have much influence over who will be selected when RIFs happen, but I find it hard to believe that.
I was laid off three weeks ago
I already have a new job and it came with a 30k raise. There is life after Oracle and it looks much better than in the past.
Why are directors being moved without a req
I recently noticed RC was moved under Ashish and there was no open req created for the same. There was a open requisition created a while ago but was told that they had cancelled the hiring for that position. Why do we not see opportunities being... — read more
VA pausing indefinitely
VA announced Friday they were pausing all EHR implementation indefinitely. Do we think lay offs for federal consulting teams are coming soon? They have hired soo many new consultants and we all literally have no work to do right now...
Ways of removing an employee in Oracle.
Effectively, practically speaking, there are only two ways of removing an employee. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. One is performance based. In this method, the employee has to be given a formal warning via HR, put in a Performance... — read more
Accessing performance reports
Is there a place where I can look at my past performance reports?
Very few good managers
Definitely not everyone can be a manager. Most of them here just seem to be trying to break the employees spirit. Why is that? Maybe because nowhere like here is it so easy for someone who does not have competence to be promoted to a managerial... — read more
Should I take outside offer or Stay
I am a solution engineer for Oracle Cloud. I have been at Oracle 15 months. I really wanted to stay at Oracle for at least another 15 months, but the layoffs have been constant since August. I got an outside offer for a large startup for double the... — read more
100% return to office coming soon?
Rumour has it that mandatory return full time is coming… anyone heard anything?
The pressure is huge
I can't wait to leave. Is it just my impression, or is micromanagement in general here worse now than ever?
More cuts coming to OA
MS gearing up her spreadsheet for more RIFs going in to FY24. Might happen before the end of da fiscal, so some unlucky RIF people won’t get their q4 payout. If your feeling like you’re on the list, start applying now. And if you’re not, just get... — read more
Oracle Falls to #3 in DBMS Marketshare
Gartner just released 2022 results. AWS takes the top spot, Microsoft second. This is what happens when LE denies cloud for years. Oracle will keep dropping….
So what’s next for engineered systems?
Any word of re-orgs?
Which departments are being cut?
I read here about people who were cut, but I can't figure out which departments were affected. I'm safe for now but I intend to leave anyway.
what makes management so clueless to the outside world?
What makes sr. management so clueless to the outside world? Some of the folks who have grown old with oracle have no concept of what other companies are doing and why it works better. Oracle treats their customers like hostages.
What they forget
It is not so much being RIF'd. It is also how its done. The people who are treated wrong will someday likely end up customers. How long do you think they will keep Oracle in their company when they have an alternative. One reason the market is so... — read more
Just got layoff notice - can i negotiate severance at all?

Work being cut down
Someone mentioned in one of the threads below that his manager cut down his work, probably so that he could could devalue him and claim that the employee is not doing anything. I'm starting to think this isn't a rare occurrence at all?
A little transparency would go a long way
This is the least transparent management I have ever encountered. How is this a good business strategy? Keeping employees in the dark?
Grab your ankles. Expect 342 million dollars in layoff packages paid out Tuesday May 2nd 2023.
Final round (for this year) .... yay. 927 million in severance packages were allocated for FY23 which wraps up at the end of May. Oracle used to layoff in June at the end of the fiscal year. The new and enhanced accounting system whacks people... — read more
Me right now !!!
Laid off and feeling lost, What once was certain is now tossed, The road ahead is unclear, But know that hope is always near.
It’s hard to stay motivated

Layoffs
We're the layoffs just in the US?
More layoffs in OCI
Should we expect further RIF across OCI over April/May? And maybe next FY, August/September
Oracle Managers, current or past, how did you monitor remote employees?
How does Oracle enable monitoring of employees? Do they track keystrokes? online time? mouse movement? do they turn on microphone or webcam? (these two seem like a serious invasion of privacy!)
PayIt co-founder thinks company can be as big as Cerner, which helped shape him
John Thomson, who’s adamant about growing in Kansas City, thinks his company PayIt eventually could reach the size of Cerner.
Confirmed. NO focal in FY24 org wide
Just confirmed in our all hands by our GM. No formal focal across Oracle in FY24, regardless of business or individual performance. Reason given was the economic climate. How does this make you feel?
Years without a raise
I would never stay in a company where I wouldn't get any pay increase for years. So I wonder why those who say they haven't gotten a raise here in a long time don't look for better opportunities elsewhere?
