If any higher ups that are still employed and have access to Dan, just a thought. I was curious, I heard 50% of building engineers were let go in new England. 1 person to cover a entire state. I hope you realize we are heading into winter. A lot of the sites are remote. Expectations are they can get to a site within two hours. Please try and understand the logistics of this and thier jobs and everything that is involved in the regular maintenance, the preventive maintenance and say nothing about the emergencies. Getting there how far is the nearest help? What happens when a site goes down? What happens if multiple sites are on generator and they are required to be on-site? Also if they store fuel in large amounts ad most do there had to me a person certified in proper fuel and tank issues on site! They are also required to be on call 24/7 and within 2 hours from site. Please explain how that is going to work? Also what happens when someone needs PTO? is sick? Death in the family? Just curious what is the average cost for a sire going black? This is not sustainable! It will end badly, trust me! If you think you are going to hire outside contractor you definitely should not be in the position you are in.They bring nothing to the table and good luck finding anyone that is reliable. This also will end badly. Keep the union ,make it stronger. I have never seen a more dedicated group then I have seen in the Verizon union building engineers. They are fully dedicated and loyal to a fault and will do anything that is asked of them. You have tried Cushman and Wakefied has been a disaster to say the least! Building engineers are responsible for multiple properties and are responsible for facilities worth millions of dollars and keep them functional and keeping the customers and thier equipment running and thier services up.You really need to rethink this! Warned in advance.

UNION PEOPLE DID NOTHING
they protect themselves , not the others
No Union is not being laid off next maybe some buyouts but stop being bitter toward the union folks we didn’t it
Repost this guy is right Ha ha no they are offering a nice severance package to a small few union with Many decades under their belts .Its targeted their ready. But over all they are hiring field techs like crazy .Most areas that didn’t have fios are being built out it’s a decade long project. The 5g for the cell sites along with the new focus on business fiber will keep field techs very busy.I would say if anything the only union side that they maybe look to offer reduce head count that will not get replaced would be inside people like clerks and such.Unfortunately for any desk paper person they will consider you management at will .They will always look for ways to faze that out ,but hands on jobs may not make millions but are very dependable in the need .Most of the new generation do not want to do anything hands on .Especially with work from home being dangled in front of them for clerical work.So replacement of our extremely Aged work force with years and years of background will not be as easy as you think
Next wave..
Who will get affected this next wave? Non-union again? Or Union? Any sources out there?
Locals
If you’re still employed, try to get union. People should feel secure about their job and not stress about if they’ll have a job the following week, or month. This isn’t the end of the layoffs. Get some protection. The unions are there for a reason.
Philly Housing Authority plans to lay off almost 300 workers in 2026
The cutbacks are the result of dramatic changes in how PHA, which provides affordable housing to thousands of families across the city, does maintenance and repair work. Instead of directly employing union electricians, carpenters, and other workers, beginning next year, the agency will contract out for those jobs as needed.

Union Workers will be Next !
I am hearing that up to 20 % on the union workforce will be layed off next . (Workers hired after 8 of 2003 ) Any thoughts or facts on this ?
California Union Layoffs?
Anything on CA side of thing yet?
Help me understand
I wonder why Union isn’t involved in layoffs because every where I read if the company is restructuring even Union could be laid off! I safely assume August 2026 no more contracts for Union employees. Someone help me understand.

I told everyone it was coming every RUMOR there is a truth in it, i wish he would have talked about the other layoff that will come in February after the frontier neegee is finalized too that number will increased as we had a VP who helped with the transition a few months ago to finalize it, get your résumé’s updated, get your financial in order, also they will try to FIRE YOU BEFORE THE LAYOFF happens to avoid paying you the severance package do not trust any of your managers and leaders make sure you document everything VERIZON cannot be trusted its time the employee UNIONIZED and become Stronger….. YOUR AD/SR MANAGER BEEN HAD ThE LIST OVER 4 Days AGO IT WAS RELEASED ask KATHLEEN GRILLO…. Vz has no transparency the employees knew and everyone kept it a secret from us acting like they didnt fu--ing know shir
Join the Union
Please take some time and review and send in especially if you are a frontline worker. Regardless of what happens on 11/20/2025 we should join. We have been getting raises less then inflation for years, our Rx coverages got way worse and our insurance increased by 30% of cost while removing almost all employee discounts from other companies. That whole new program actually cost more then retail in most cases. Providing awards points which are pennies on the dollar while PSO workers get weekends off but reps who have been performing well for over a decade can't see their families on the weekend.
This needs to stop now!

Nokia's Polish branch refuses to recognize a legal trade union. A pattern of union busting that betrays Finland's democratic labor values
" Zwiazkowa Nowoczesna is a legally registered trade union founded in 2024 at Nokia Solutions & Networks Poland. From the very beginning, Nokia's local management has employed tactics directly drawn from the classic union busting playbook: refusing to communicate, denying legal status, and obstructing any form of dialogue with employees. These are not isolated missteps—they form a pattern, suggesting intent rather than confusion.
Recently, Nokia Poland reiterated in an official letter that “your trade union does not exist for us,” despite receiving multiple formal notifications required by Polish law regarding our activity and membership. This position is blatantly illegal. According to Poland's Trade Union Act, employers must recognize and communicate with every duly formed trade union, regardless of size. There are no legal grounds for denying recognition of our existence, and doing so constitutes a violation of fundamental labor rights protected both by national and EU law.
This conduct reveals bad faith. It shows that Nokia is not merely misunderstanding Polish legal standards—it is consciously disregarding them. Such behavior would be unthinkable in Finland, a country where trade unions helped shape the very foundations of the modern welfare state and social economy. The contrast is striking: a Finnish company that thrives within a strong system of social dialogue now exports authoritarian labor practices to Central and Eastern Europe."
Techs are included in the RIFS / layoffs
Was notified today that I had to submit 4 of my bottom guys. I was shocked because I thought they were protected. Turns out only the senior guys have a security or non layoff agreement. The union has been notified and have been given the list.

With all these layoffs happening tomorrow and early next year. Do we still expect for a strike to happen out in the east coast or will the new CEO settle ?

VZ CEO from 11/17/2025 In my opinion the union is done after watching this. So start maneuvering
Good luck
I’m a union member with 30+ years. I can feel grief and pain in your post. I just wanted to say I wish you a heart felt good luck. We will miss you.
Vena's ego
Seems like this merger is only to satisfy Vena's ego. He knows he has to fire people and he is still making lifetime employment deals with the unions. He just wants to get this merger through to be recognized as "the first person who connected both coasts with rail". He will then quit like Boris Johnson had to quit after Brexit. He will be known, but at what cost?

Verizon Layoff Severance Packages in 2025
Severance packages for laid-off Verizon employees are not one-size-fits-all—they vary based on factors like tenure, job band (e.g., below Band 5 vs. senior levels), union status, and whether the layoff is voluntary (VSP) or involuntary (RIF).
Based on historical patterns, recent voluntary programs, and employee reports, here’s what you can typically expect.
Note: These are general guidelines from prior rounds; actual terms for the 2025 cuts may differ slightly, and you should review your specific offer letter or consult HR/legal counsel before signing (signing often waives rights to sue).
Standard Severance Components
• Base Pay Continuation:
• For most non-senior roles (below Band 5): 2 weeks of pay per year of service, with a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 35 weeks.
• For voluntary separation programs (VSP) or enhanced packages: Often 3 weeks per year, up to 60 weeks in past offers (e.g., 2018 and 2020 rounds).
• Example: With 10 years of service, you’d get about 20–30 weeks of pay (roughly 5–7.5 months) at the standard/enhanced rate, based on your base salary plus short-term incentives (STI) divided by 52 weeks.
• Payout of Accrued Benefits:
• Full payout of unused PTO/vacation time.
• Pro-rated STI (performance bonus) and long-term incentives (LTI/stock) for the current year.
• In some cases, personal hours or retention bonuses if applicable (e.g., from prior outsourcing deals).
• Health Benefits Continuation:
• Medical, dental, and vision coverage typically extended for the duration of your severance period (e.g., up to 35–60 weeks).
• COBRA subsidies may cover part or all of the premium for 6–11 months post-severance.
• Other Perks:
• Outplacement services (career coaching, resume help) for 3–6 months.
• Potential unemployment eligibility for up to 6 months after severance ends (though VSP takers may initially be ineligible).
• No repayment if rehired by Verizon, but pro-rated adjustments apply.
Union surplus
If the union folks pass on this lame offer will there be a forced reduction? Contrary to what most of you believe. We don’t all have a no layoff clause. And we are not all under the same union contract.
Vena’s agreement
I see where the BRC union has signed the post merger job agreement. A question for anyone reading this that is an official in the union, what do these agreements say? What wording is there in these agreements that makes it worthwhile? Are the members voting on this? None of this is making sense. It seems strange to me someone that has cut about 10,000 jobs is interested in anybody’s job security.
Salaried
Salaried workers have big egos and think they're better than everyone else and management will see that and treat them well. They think unions are just to protect lazy losers, when it's really just about fair treatment. Bad employees in a union can still be fired.
Unionize now to fight for a better tomorrow
If we’d been unionized, Verizon could not just blindsided 15,000 of us overnight. A union contract legally forces the company to negotiate the layoff process first, things like timelines, criteria, alternatives, notice periods, and protections. They can’t just drop the axe and walk away. It becomes a fight, not a surprise.
Can you Pulse me now
Please pulse the 15,000 managers being let go so we can really know how they feel lol. Brown noising only gets you so far ill stick with the union.
Could unionizing bring the layoffs under control?
Is it time for T-Mobile to unionize? The leaders of the company clearly don’t care about the employees.
Unionizing could slow down and complicate the process of mass tech company layoffs by introducing legal and financial barriers through collective bargaining agreements.
CWA & IBEW both have telecom representation.
Pretty sure management layoffs will continue right up till the unions contract which there will not be a strike
So once their done destroying the management already heard rumors that the unions already cut a deal with the company to settle the contract .They already came up with a plan to sell it to the membership as if it was the best they could Do .It will be just more of the same .Anyone thinking that their going to get all kind of concessions from company is nutz.Company nor the union want a strike
Ocala Area Layoffs coming
Get ready boys because the layoffs will be coming to our area soon. Meanwhile, our union works against us. The girls from AT&T that run the union are helping them Find ways to get rid of all of us. The union is no longer an asset to us. CO techs, splicers, and anyone working outside plant tickets. Patty doesn’t care because she’s close to retirement anyway. She is an evil person.
This is absolute fact. They are working on the layoff plan right now.
Verizon layoffs coming
Layoff’s are set to start happening on November 20th, 2025 and this is all due to Verizon struggles in losing customers and rising cost. This is a message directly from new CEO. Sales representatives have now been trying to unionize and HR is going to stores to try to prevent this from happening.
Unionizing
Serious question from non union employee. If my department miraculously survives this is it possible to join the union? What is the process? I assume this late in the game they would end our group if we tried.
It what is the union strikes
And the company has gotten rid of this exorbitant percentage of management employees? Who's working strike duty and who's running the freaking company?
Time to Unionize
It’s been a long time coming, and the truth is simple: we need to unionize. The 1% at the top continue cashing in while we absorb the fallout of plans they designed and failed to execute. They walk away with bonuses; we get scraps and a pat on the back for “unused vacation.” That imbalance ends when we stand together.
You’ll start hearing more very soon. This will be the last RIF we face without real representation and a collective voice that can’t be ignored. Leadership only “listens” when numbers look good. The moment things slip, they point the finger at us.
We deserve protection, respect, and a seat at the table. It’s time to claim it.
What dont we go on strike? Like a national big one
Go Vteamers , Be Bold !
Blood bath coming for management
So serious question. As an associate I never understood the hate management had for especially union folks. When these huge layoffs continue to happen year after year wouldn’t some of the management employees understand why we need a voice.I mean honestly this is all about moving out the old and moving in the new paypal CEO own buddies to high level positions .I mean just can’t even understand the complete dedication some of the management has to being completely terrible to associates. All for what a company that has sunk itself wasted more money then most and really could careless about you kicking you to the curb during Holidays. If I was a management person I would not give to damns about anything other then getting a check till they gave me the boot like they plan to do to so Many!!Ra Ra V Teamers or soon to be ex V Teamers
Shoulda joined the union
Imagine thinking a company has your best interests at heart just to lay you off before the holidays lol. Y’all shoulda joined the union.
Oshkosh Defense plans to lay off 160 workers
- A union leader attributed the layoffs to the company's focus on military contracts despite losing a major JLTV bid.
- Oshkosh Corporation is also facing slowed production on its multi-billion dollar contract to build USPS delivery vehicles.

What is the US employment law statue?
Verizon retaining employees with H-1B visa status versus retaining US citizens. What gives? What is the US employment law statue?
TI - Change Needed
What is it going to take from those left in the DFW area to say enough is enough? TI is a woke company that doesn't care about its employees and continues to sell out our jobs to India. Leaders in the company are DEI placements, especially IT, and there is no end in sight. We need change! We need to take back our company! Should we start a Union? Stage a huge walk out from local TMG and IT? Any ideas on how to tell Krunali and Haviv that enough is enough and we will not lay down any longer!!!
