Layoffs, lean projects, slow attrition, all of it stretching into FY26. Budgets are down across teams, and even if you survive the cuts, raises and bonuses are going to be miniscule or won't even happen. Being kept on doesn’t mean things look brighter for any of us.

Anyone see demand walk or sales forecast yet? Most our district lost 1600 or more hours fa this year vs last, wonder if they are going to cut nire!?

Keene State College is addressing a four-million-dollar budget shortfall by cutting dozens of jobs. Of the 25 positions eliminated, eight were vacant and 12 faculty members agreed to leave under a voluntary incentive plan. Most cuts take effect on January 2nd, with the remaining ones following early next year. The school’s deficit follows nearly 18 million dollars in cuts to the University System of New Hampshire.

New Orleans mayor-elect Helena Moreno warned there will be cuts and layoffs from city government as it battles a projected $222 million budget deficit in 2026.

And layoffs are rampant. The demand is tapering off and customers/clients are asking for more with less people and $$$. So, that'd be the environment right now. Today, October 29, 2025, Xavier announced firings from departments that uphold the mission of the school. From the Office of Social Justice to CAMPUS MINISTRY, people were let go due to budget cuts, yet racist, mean spirited professors are still here. How can you claim to prepare students to mold a more just and humane society when you're firing the people who help to form students into these leaders. We deserve better.

Kansas City’s transit agency is facing a budget shortfall. City council members have already approved about 78 million dollars for KCATA and are considering an additional 46 million dollars to keep operations funded through October. In return, they want significant operational changes from the agency.

The proposal would cut routes and reduce service, include staffing reductions, and explore a fare program that charges riders who can afford to pay. Oakland faces a projected 129 million dollar one year budget shortfall and is pivoting to a back to basics approach. City leaders say priorities remain community safety, housing security, essential services, and collecting owed revenues. At a budget hearing, staff outlined difficult choices needed to rein in spending and balance the books.

If approved Dec 17, phase one would cut a little over 204 million dollars. Measures include reductions to city staff and police overtime, postponing one police academy, browning out two fire stations, and transferring money into the general fund from other sources. Proposed shifts include about 6 million dollars from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, about 15 million dollars from the Self Insurance Liability Fund, and nearly 10 million dollars from the Emergency Reserve fund that exceeds policy minimums.

WNIN is looking to make some changes to their business model following several budget cuts and staff layoffs. To do that, they are looking to create a task force made up of local business experts.

UC Health is cutting 50 jobs across its organization, citing financial pressures and the need to reduce costs. The Cincinnati-based academic health system, which has about 12,000 employees, says those affected have been offered severance and may apply for other open positions within UC Health. The City of Colorado Springs announced some measures it is planning to implement aimed at closing a projected $31 million shortfall.

The City said the adjustments will include efficiencies, reductions in workforce, scheduled furlough days, and the permanent closure of Meadows Park Community Center. They really cut the budget huh? Ive learned more from a high school substitute teacher than these "presentations" on grainy zoom video from offshore.

All of these unrealistic budget projections and talk of losing money is so they will not have to pay out on our bonuses. the 1st step in figuring the amount of money toward bonuses is company profit. It they company loses money, there is no profit, therefore no bonus money.
You should never count your chickens before they hatch but especially dont spend your planned bonus money because it is all but a given there will be none to very little come March 26.

While the company is poised for (in amidst of) growth -- our group's (operations) budgets are being aggressively cut. Are we looking to divest some low margin aspects of the company or any people actions?
