Will they make any last-minute changes to severance?

Is that something that could happen? My mind keeps coming up with all the worst possible scenarios, and that is the one I cannot stop thinking about right now. It actually makes a bit of sense if the goal is to cut costs, since cutting payouts for those leaving would fit that goal. Please, someone tell me this has never happened.

Don't Panic

There's a lot of anxiety and speculation going on now, and I just wanted to post a friendly reminder to take care of yourself. You're not alone in being anxious, losing sleep, and struggling to function at work. (I am too!) But so far, all we have are rumors, and nothing is confirmed yet. Time will tell.

Also, getting laid off is better than getting fired or quitting, because getting laid off usually comes with severance pay and potentially qualifies you for unemployment if you can't find another job before the severance runs out. All things considered, I would prefer that over enduring through RTO and other nonsense meant to encourage us to quit. So the best thing you can do for yourself is to try to focus on work and not give them any reason to fire you while we wait this out. (Easier said than done, I know...) Meanwhile, dust off the old resume and make some connections. Collect any personal effects from the office before Tuesday. Take care of your mental health.

Q4 with layoffs…

I am in a business area where I believe my role and most but not all within the L8 team I’m on are “safe” for now due to Q4 support. However, that is likely not the case come Jan/Feb. I hope/believe that our team will realize this and adjust their level of effort and support/availability outside of business hours this Q4. No need to overextend yourself to just be let go in Jan/Feb. I am also pacing my work according to the announcement timing I’m expecting…I’ll just leave peak support tasks undone until after any cuts are made next week. If I’m let go, then someone else can figure it out. I’ve deleted my entire One Drive (can sync again if you want). No need to pass off files to your leader if your role isn’t needed.

Pay and Benefits - Savings and Retirement site weird alert..

Anyone else log into their savings and retirement summary page lately?

I see an alert/info icon that says “Need to initiate a 401(k) rollover to another company? If you are looking to withdraw your savings, you may want to consider rolling it directly into another eligible employer plan or an individual retirement account (IRA). You can learn more here or request a rollover if you are ready.”

Certainly making me more nervous. Is this a sign? Anyone else see this when you log into your benefits?

January?

Trying to ease the anxiety over here - good to know what's down the road for us. No way Deerfield can handle the OPO overflow. Parking lot is full most days. Earlier someone posted expected layoffs of 400 in January. Does anyone have any updates on this. Still January, or sooner/later? And first week of January, or later in the month? What's the pattern with previous layoff timing?

Who gets laid off rumors

I’ve been hearing a mixture of things in the forums around who gets laid off. This is what I’ve gathered:

Outside consultants, Accenture, came in to decide which parts of the business we are reducing head count in.

For legal reasons, Target can’t use some sort of metric to determine who in each part of the business specifically will get cut.

High performers aren’t safe either, but I also heard a contradictory claim that past performance reviews will be used to decide who gets laid off.

Direct managers won’t be involved in deciding which of their direct reports are laid off, since those decisions are being made at a much higher level.

They will target high paying jobs L6 and above, but at the same time they can’t seem as if they are doing age discrimination.

Tech seems to be “safe” because of attrition.

Merch org will get hit hard due to ?. No one really said why.

Anyone hear anything I haven’t mentioned?

Identity/PR Crisis

Does anyone else feel like targets identity crisis and pr image is as responsible for the decline in sales as anything else? The only thing that makes me think MAYBE there won’t be layoffs is because it really would make Target look sooooo much worse to fire people this close to the holidays and would further perpetuate that image of a company self sabotaging their image. I know they will try to spin it as streamlining and becoming more efficient but I think the public will see through that. The Minnesota nice will fade completely. Any thoughts?

email captures

this email capture bs is sooooo annoying!!! no one wants to give me their email when they are buying a .10 cent scantron or a candy bar, no matter how many times I ask! pushing us to do more work with no incentive once again!

What’s keeping you holding on to this job?

Honest question. I haven’t had a raise in years, and I haven’t seen a real chance to move up, or even just switch roles, for what feels like forever. It’s like being stuck on a treadmill, exhausted but not getting anywhere. The only thing keeping me here is how scarce other opportunities are right now. I really wish I’d made a move back when there were still options to choose from.

I went to Nike Outlet near Palm Springs, CA.....

That is the BIG outlet among Nike outlets.

And I am surprised to say the least.

There were Jordans, Dunks and AF 1 by tons.

I thought that I died and went to heaven but then I realized that would have been true 10 years ago

I saw AJ 1, AJ3, AJ4, AJ5, AJ8, AJ12 wow.
Dunks in too many colors to mention ditto for AF1

I thought that the game plan is produce little bit of retros to get people excited and come out with new style for mass sale.

What is EH doing?

he is ruining the brand!!

What Do Kroger’s Layoffs Mean for Its Stock Value in 2025?

Kroger is navigating a transition after a failed Albertsons merger, including layoffs of roughly 1,000 corporate employees to cut costs and streamline operations. Despite the turbulence, investors largely view the moves as a reset rather than a red flag.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/kroger-layoffs-mean-stock-value-020315215.html

The stock’s performance is strong over longer horizons, up 24.9 percent in the last year, 67.9 percent over three years, and 121.4 percent over five years. Short term performance is mixed, with a 0.7 percent decline over the past month and a 2.2 percent gain over the past week.

Valuation checks suggest the shares look undervalued, passing five of six metrics. A two-stage discounted cash flow using last twelve months free cash flow of about 2.2 billion dollars and a projection to roughly 3.2 billion dollars by 2030 implies intrinsic value of 87.68 dollars per share, about a 22.7 percent discount to the current price.

Overall, the takeaway is that Kroger may offer a margin of safety if it can sustain cash generation and execute through the current transition.

Amazon and Nike.....

got hammered on Friday together...
AMZN and NKE is main culprit of Dow going down 900 points

Wall Street views AMZN and NKE will be most affected by new round of trade that will be started by China and Trump...

Is next time for NKE $50.00s or lower if stock markets gets into REAL bear market?....

Does anyone know how many remotes have actually been offered relocation?

I haven’t. And God knows what that means. Judging from the rumors, relocation offers seem to be just an easy, cost-free way to push people out in most cases. I mean, who would uproot their life for a job when job security is practically an ancient concept? I really hope this gets clarified soon. Honestly, I’d rather face losing the job than deal with this confusion and anxiety dragging on.

Store Visits

Here's a revised version of your message with a different wording while retaining the essential details:

"How many stores have had to prepare for these visits, and how many have been given additional support for this spectacle? We know which locations are selected; it’s always the Regional Pets that will stand there and agree to everything presented. Remember, you’ve been operating with minimal hours, yet there’s an expectation to achieve everything with insufficient resources. Let’s be honest about the situation. Corporate likely understands the reality, but they seem to prefer orchestrating things while many are left to bear the burden."

What it means now: Starbucks to cut 974 Seattle, Kent jobs starting Dec 5

Starbucks filed a WARN notice saying 974 non-retail workers in Seattle and Kent will be laid off starting December 5, 2025, following last week’s disclosure of 338 statewide job cuts. It is unclear whether corporate or in-store roles are affected. The moves come as CEO Brian Niccol restructures to reverse a post-pandemic slump, with multiple Seattle closures including the Capitol Hill Reserve Roastery, which the company said shut for financial performance, not unionization.

Translation for locals and workers - nearly 1,000 jobs at risk in King County, timing locked by 60-day WARN rules, details on who is affected still pending. Watch for ripple effects in downtown and Kent warehousing and support operations, plus potential hiring freezes or transfers. If you are impacted, check the WA Employment Security Department’s WARN database, line up benefits and retraining options, and document timelines now.

So… the master plan’s finally taking shape

The recent bump in Fossil’s stock price? Yeah, that’s pretty much the result of all those cost-cutting moves kicked off a few years back — nothing new or magical happening.
The new management’s just cashing in on that, adding a few “extra steps” cooked up by those golden, high-priced consultants who’ve basically become part of the furniture at this point.

But here’s the real question: what’s gonna be left of this group once the dust settles? What about its legacy — those once-iconic brands? Competitors are already rubbing their hands; they know they’ll scoop up what we’re letting slip away.

And now the latest “big idea”? A Distributor-Led Model in Italy.
Seriously? You think the license partners — a couple of which have their HQs right there — are thrilled about this move? Hard to say how Italian key accounts will react once they find out who’s taking over the distribution.
Word is, there’s some mixed feedback in the market about this new setup — not everyone seems excited about it. Let’s hope the execution proves everyone wrong.
Fossil’s changing fast — maybe too fast. Guess we’ll see soon enough what the numbers have to say.
