Just awful!

The Nike by Louisville store at Oxmoor Center has permanently closed its doors. This closure occurred on July 13 after approximately three years of operation. The reason for the shutdown has not been officially disclosed by the company or mall representatives. This marks another retail location closure for Nike, following weaker earnings reports and other market exits. The company's only remaining Louisville-area store is now the factory outlet in Simpsonville.

The toxicity of Humana is off the charts and they have sleazy lawyers protecting them from all their mismanagement of the business, putting greed before member care, and toxic treatment to employees.

Humana, being one of the largest companies in Louisville and the entire state if Kentucky, is an embarrassment to both.

If I was the Louisville Mayor or the Kentucky Governor, I would probably recognize this and put pressure on Humana to get their house in order and make some changes for the positive, to truly put members first, before shareholders, in regards to the actual business that is their mission. And to start treating their employees much more fairly and to tell Humana to have their Humana Resources department to actually take employee complaints seriously regarding their direct leader’s abuse and to stop protecting the company’s reputation at all costs, even when it flies in the face of all decency.

The Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board received a three-year grant. This grant will assist nearly 300 workers affected by recent layoffs. Layoffs occurred at BlueOval SK, Akebono, Kentucky Cooperage, and Moveret. Funds will provide retraining, on-the-job-training, and support services. The program aims to help participants find stable, well-paying employment.

I have heard from other co-workers that there will be more layoffs next month in June to close out the first half of the year. When I pressed them further they failed to elaborate. I am a care coordinator and my state is Kentucky. We do Medicaid and I do know that is under pressure but my thought is any layoffs would happen early next year in 2027. Maybe the company is getting a head start and going to lay us off early and have a termination date near the end of 2026.
