CNH finalized plans to close its Burlington facility. The company will lay off 209 manufacturing employees. These layoffs will occur in stages, concluding by May 29. A 47% decline in loader backhoe demand caused the closure. Sixty employees will remain for a new proving ground in Burlington.

Have the stores been getting non stop deliveries of pallets of merchandise to sell off along with its currently own goods? Positions starting to open up at nearby locations to help colleagues who want to stay with the company? I know fixture sales will probably start beginning in Febuary. Hope everyone is doing OK. Closing a location can be fun.

Will retail locations be closing? Anyone heard of the layoffs affecting retail?

I’ve been told that Converse retail is in a huge downward spiral. A dozen or so stores are being closed in the coming months and the stores that remain open barely have any product on their shelves. The person I know believes even the profitable stores are being closed when the leases are up. Anyone know anything else from the Converse-side of things?

Linamar Shelbyville is preparing to permanently close its operations later this year, with the shutdown scheduled for July 31. The closure will impact 80 employees at the facility located at 100 Northcreek Drive.

In my time with the company, the SPTO bid has always been around November. We could request our scheduled time off for the whole 12 months of the upcoming New Year. We work in a site that is closing. They are only allowing us to schedule in quarterly increments. So far we've only been able to schedule through the end of March. Is this an indication the site we work in is closing this year in 2026? We are sorry to ask here, but nobody talks about it at work.

My store is high-performing, do we have anything to worry about? I remember reading a while ago somebody complained about being blindsided with closing since the location was high-performing, but I thought the person was trolling. Does it ever happen that such a store is closed for whatever reason?

The company said it also planned to invest in 350 other locations through fiscal year 2026, and confirmed 66 of the 150 closures moving forward. Closures include stores in states such as California, Georgia, New York and Texas.

By March 2025, stores had already begun closing in downtown Brooklyn and Long Island.

Macy’s told USA TODAY on Jan. 7 that there are no updates to the company’s closure plans.

Is this a sign we’re among the closing stores? We haven’t been told anything yet, but this has me shaken.

In my opinion here is what is happening with Belk. I believe they have saw what is actually work for Macy’s and Belk is going to give it a shot. Macy’s is opening up smaller format stores that seem to be doing quite well for the brand, but at the same time they are closing their stores that are simply not profitable anymore and putting more focus into their “go-forward” stores. This strategy is all too similar to what Belk is doing. I do believe we will see several more store closures with Belk in the new year but honestly if this can help the company I believe it should be done. I mean it is working for Macy’s as they saw their first sales increase and positive outlook for the first time in several years.

The Stop & Shop in Clinton will close as the company "has made the difficult decision not to renew the lease for our store," according to Stephanie Cunha, a spokesperson for Stop & Shop.

Schools have already been notified of how much they will have to cut from their budgets. The cuts will go into effect starting in August.

Sanford, St. Mary’s, Cordele, Tulsa, and several other locations will be closing in 2026 permanently. In the meanwhile, the company is describing the new "market stores" as a new concept that'll help Belk just like the outlet talks of a few years back lol.

Please please open backup the community centers in Kansas City. We seniors would be open to paying monthly to keep these centers open. They have been a godsend for us and to just close with no warning or no way to say good bye to staff right before Xmas is just awful. Please reconsider
