GM pension contact info

Greetings. My mother recently passed away. She has been getting a small pension check from GM for years from my Dads long ago GM employment. Does anyone have an email / site or contact to stop the payment? Thanks.

It can always be worse

Seeing as there aren't any improvements, I have no reason to disbelieve those who think it could get worse here. What do you think awaits us in the future at GM?

Low value employees are next

Do you say "no" when your boss asks you for a favor? Have you had poor interpersonal relationships with your colleagues? Do you do less work than your colleagues? Are you disengaged? Are you combative when issues arise and do you fail to take... — read more

Did you start a layoff fund when you started?

It's unfortunately always the same result. The day you start at GM, you should be planning your lay off or departure fund. It's never if, but only when they choose to "departure" you. Hard knock life for many people.

They should never be trusted

I remember how they lulled us into believing that the company was doing well and that there would be no layoffs. Giving people a false sense of security and then suddenly cutting them is totally inhumane. The lesson to be learned from everything is... — read more

Direct employees are next

1st > "performance calibrations" 2nd > "voluntary separations" 3rd > "contract workers" 4th > "program/marketing cuts" You are here: 5th > "quarterly performance calibrations" Try to be a little compassionate toward/about your fellow human beings... — read more

GM beats earnings estimates again

It’s a critical time for the U.S. auto industry—and General Motors earnings showed it’s navigating splendidly. GM stock was rising. These are not easy times to be an auto maker. Companies are battling for electric-vehicle market share in the... — read more

Focusing primarily on EVs is a mistake

Would be pretty greedy and foolish to get rid of the current talent that’s making you money when future sales of EVs aren’t a sure thing yet. But hey, some things never change about gm and they seem to think they know better than the customer. Guess... — read more

Contractors are next

Like 2018 the contractors will be next. If the GM Sr Management let these folks go staffing will be low. On the other hand GM will say they're out of of money once the UAW goes on strike come Labor Day.

Thinking it’s not over yet…thoughts?

Seems that there will still be reshuffling and some org based layoffs in the near future since the amount may have been met but not the number of people… By June 30th, all the folks will be gone. Thereafter assessments will be made of each org. Only... — read more

Overhiring

What I don’t get is why did everyone, including GM, think it was a great idea to go on such a huge hiring spree post-pandemic? The massive price hikes and demand in vehicles/services/etc were obviously not going to last forever as supply came back... — read more

The Clown Show Continues....

So GM just fired a percentage of salaried employees for so-called "performance" issues; goes thru a fairly costly VSP; threatens an ISP; severely restricts travel and OT......all in a desperate attempt to reduce costs by $2 Billion. You might think... — read more

Outside the VSP window

It's incredibly frustrating that they gave us only 2 weeks. It's not enough time to line up another job!!! Like many others, I've absolutely had it with GM and want to leave. I have several irons in the fire but now I'm reluctant to take any offers... — read more

Pressured to take VSP?

There are surprisingly many people who say that they were pressured by their managers to take VSP. That's sad.
