GM says 5,000 salaried workers will take buyouts, expects $1 billion charge in first quarter

  • About 5,000 white-collar workers at General Motors opted to participate in a buyout program that was announced last month.
  • GM CFO Paul Jacobson said Tuesday the automaker expects to take a roughly $1 billion charge during the quarter as a result of the program.
  • GM CEO Mary Barra last month said if not enough employees participated in the program, the automaker may have needed to resort to layoffs.

"these 5000 job are being sent to offshore."

If they were, GM employees would be introduced to the new offshore people/groups they would be interfacing with. This isn't happening. "sent to offshore" - Okay CCP

"When America automotive is dead do tell your kids that we had one but we lost the industry to cost cut and now you dive Chinese cars..."

Here's my message to Xi's "Fifty Cent Army": If CH cars were desirable, they would already be sold in America. They are not. Most Americans know your products are not safe and unreliable junk. Our NHTSA knows. Tell your handler you need to move to Reddit. It's not working out.
