Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Welcome to the new new GM

I think the old dog is learning new tricks. GM execs know how bad layoffs look and I think they already had a plan when they said no layoffs. With the new "performance" based firing strategy they can get rid smaller batches at whatever pace the want to have reviews...they don't even need layoffs anymore. No WARN notice, much less bad press, no time for employees to feel safe because now you're next review is right around the corner. Most of all, no ISP.

Welcome to the new new GM.

Well put post by @5qnn+1lL0ttQg.

Management doesn't care how layoffs look, especially when every big company is doing it.

Performance based layoffs just improve efficiency, being able to get rid of people every few months instead of every few years

Don't fear being fired and wondering how you're going to pay the rent and feed your kids, la la la.

(Don’t Fear) The Reaper, lean in!
Cue the cowbell:

All our times have come
Here, but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the Reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun, or the rain

(We can be like they are) Come on, baby
(Don't fear the Reaper) Baby, take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper) We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper) Baby, I'm your man
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la

Sing it with me! Don't fear the Reaper.
