General Motors said on Monday that its new-vehicle sales rose 18 percent in the first three months of the year, thanks to improved supplies of key components and firm demand from both consumers and commercial customers.
The automakers sold 603,208 cars and trucks from January to March, an increase from 512,846 in the same period of 2022.

EV and ICE vehicles share virtually all the same components.
The difference is in the drivetrain.
Many EVs have (2) drive units, both around the same size as an ICE engine. They also have a multitude of expensive modules and high voltage cables, along with a battery that weight 1,000 to 1,200 pounds. The EV also has the same 12V battery system an ICE car has to power things like interior lights, radio, headlamps, etc.
AN EV BATTERY BY ITSELF CAN COST $20,000+!
This idea that EVs are cheaper and less complicated was created by the media as green propaganda. It's not true. It will never be true.
Electric motors are simpler than an ICE and have fewer parts. EVs also don't have transmissions or driveshafts.
But batteries are expensive, and you have to put a little bit of thought into charging.
"It takes less to make an EV"
This person obviously doesn't work in engineering. Nothing could be further from the truth!
It takes less to make an EV... but you have to have a customer who wants to purchase it, and an electrical infrastructure to charge it...
Think about that for a minute. You have to shut your air conditioner off in the summer time to prevent brown outs on hot days... that's a 15-20 amp load. It's telling that the infrastructure can't handle that load for a duration, now replace that with a 100-500 amp load. Now the question starts....
Further, it's a shift in global power from the middle east to China. The middle east holds the power with oil and gas, however, China holds the power with Lithium. Hmmmm....
Would be pretty greedy and foolish to get rid of the current talent that’s making you money when future sales of EVs aren’t a sure thing yet. But hey, some things never change about gm and they seem to think they know better than the customer. Guess we’ll see whose right in the end.
Do you read or listen to anything they have been saying for years there now, its not been a secret. It takes less to make and build EVs plain and simple. When gm is only manufacturing EVs their workforce is going to be much leaner than it is now.
less profits per vehicle for that market share increase?

It’s not going to last forever. The Fed won’t stop raising rates until our unemployment rate makes 2008 look like child’s play.
Less people are going to be able to afford $40k+ vehicles.
So...why the desperation to cut people?
What do they know?
What are they keeping from us?
