They're not going to sell a million EVs unless they drop the price a lot.

The average person can't afford an EV price like the one they set for a decked out ICE truck, 60k or more.

They will not achieve 1 million EVs in NA by 2025. They'll have some excuse like always. Something like, the customer doesn't want them like they want gas trucks (that they spend copious amounts of money advertising.) Unforeseen circumstances surrounding [whatever is available to blame at the time] mean that the original plan to sell 1 million EVs is now 150,000 to the government. Some garbage where we end up subsidizing GM's compliance cars while they act like they're better than everybody else.

Bottom line- today's thermostat in this country... People want ICE vehicles, at their whim. People are considering EV, when their circumstances allow. Bottom line- this country is Capitalistic, thus demand the market to provide their choice. T

Buying an EV makes they/them a better person.
Please help one team reach it’s goal so we can win with integrity.

When purchasing an EV, including CHARGING the EV, aligns with my day-to-day life, along with reasonable comprehension of extended traveling in an EV--- THEN, only THEN, will I consider buying an EV.

As another GMer stated- with an ICE truck/SUV/vehicle- " With a gas tank fillup... I can get another 300-400 miles extension in less than 5 minutes- "Fill 'er up!"

GM- make your vision a REALITY; don't make your Consumer's ATTEMPT to make your vision a reality.

I think the point is the only mass market EV GM has, outside of China, is the Bolt. Last year the company sold about 2.25 milion cars total with less than 40,000 of those being EVs. Leadership keeps reorganizing teams and many promotions are questionable. Is it possible for GM to make 1 million EVs annually in North America?

The statement was "Most EVs are powered by coal-based electricity."

That statement is false. 19.5% of electricity comes from coal.

No mention of natural gas or fossil fuels in general in the original post.

Natural gas is a fossil fuel.
Do you need a source for that?

Renewables only provide 21.5% of America’s electricity. Electricity sources for EVs are majority fossil fuels.
See your own link as a source.

Actually natural gas provides more electricity than coal does in the US.

People can be very confident in providing false information, so it's good to provide sources.

Most EVs are powered by coal-based electricity.
A very, very small percentage of our electricity is from renewable sources.
This has nothing to do with the POTUS.

EVs won't take off until there are charging stations on every corner, like gas stations.

Millions of EVs sold in other countries already, there aren't Biden in those countries. EV is going to eclipse out ICE, regardless people in US likes it or not.

They can sell 1 Million EVs in two year, but the question is will they be profitable or will they be eating profits from ICEs? With more price cuts coming from competition and new models, GM and Ford will not be profitable for some time.
