A test if you are on the let-go list

I was let go in Feb. 2019. About one week before that day, my butterfly kn--e disappeared from my desk central drawer. I used it to peel apple during lunch break. It’s my daily routine. I was surprised but didn’t pay too much attention. After layoff, I figured it out. HR or Security did preventative check before the big day.

So you can do a test. Leave a kn--e in your open drawer, or just in a can on your desk. If it’s gone suddenly, then it’s your turn.

Not all areas in the company were converted to open seating at the same time.

We’ve had open seating before 2019.
The trolling is getting really sad.

So that's where the doobie in my drawer went!

GM has protocols for things like that and I doubt a kn--e would just disappear without any word about it. OP and the comment pointing out that OP is something people would want to get rid of occurred less than a minute apart. It's social engineering. It's best in class gaslighting.

Maybe having a butterfly kn--e at work is why they let you go, genius. How about just going about our lives and focusing on what we can control. If stuff happens respond accordingly.
