Moral has gone down the toilet. Worked hard on SpringOne just to be laid off the day before it happens.
No bonus for the laid off people
I'm starting to despise this company even though I used to love working here. What a terrible approach to layoffs! They obviously timed the layoffs so as not to pay bonuses to the employees. I wonder how much they will save on those unpaid... — read more
Still hiring
Shouldn't there be a hiring freeze until the acquisition is finalized? What's the point of bringing new people on when they could all be fired/laid off within a few months? Not to mention, bringing new people on while current employees are being laid... — read more

How to avoid lay offs
VMware 25to 30 lay off expected in a month. Here what I did in my previous company. The day of layoff I hid in the rest room until HR return to their office. It worked for me. Next day nobody showed up at my office.
RIF updates per BU? Delivery method?
Seeing in some of the threads that RIF'ing has begun. So sorry for those talented individuals already.. Any information on how the news was delivered, what the severance looks like, and what BUs this has happened in already?
Mainstream Media Silence
Many companies are having large layoffs and yet we do not hear much about in the news. Millions of people are losing jobs and the journo does not care.
Do notifications go out throughout the week?
I have not received any notification so far, but I am very anxious.
Better to be laid off now than when Broadcom takes over
Think about it, Broadcom will do all in its power to reduce its layoff-related costs. I know VMware doesn't have an especially good severance package as it is, but it will look like a prize once we start getting whatever Broadcom decides is enough... — read more

People who suggested to leave
Just thinking of the so many people who were suggesting to leave VMware for a FAANG company after the Broadcom announcement happened. So basically all these FAANGs companies already laid off so many people while in VMware we are still all here (apart... — read more

Tough competition in the labor market
I have been desperately looking for a job for several months now. However, many people have left since the announcement. I wonder how everything would look if the market was not as dismal as it is unfortunately? I think that in that case Broadcom... — read more
You guys and gals are crazy. VMware + Broadcom is a HUGE opportunity.
I came to read about the MS layoffs and stumbled on the negative sentiments for VMware's future. I'm not concerned. We have great employees, an incredible market, incredible leadership, our product portfolio is unmatched, and cloud adoption will... — read more

Curious, would VMWare Employees Rather Dell Not Sold it Off?
Do people at VMware think it was better under Dell? I know it was better prior to the Dell/EMC merger as VMware was pretty much left to its own devices.
Will we see similar at VMware lol
