CB, Velo, and Pivotal will all be spun off after the acquisition closes.

PE buyouts could go bad, and could go decently. Some PEs are just horrible and just don't know what to do with security companies like Carbon Black.

Thoma Bravo is an example of a fairly good PE that has bought up a lot of similar companies. That would be greatly preferable to BroadCom

be careful what you wish for, private equity backed acquisition could be just as painful as BCOM, maybe just without the forced working from offices, still high sales pressure, cost cutting, no frills etc

@tho+1kB5Qiiq I think it's unlikely since the CB team is light on the ground already. That's just my two cents.

The comment by @xsd+1kB5Qiiq is correct. Carbon Black will be spun off into an independent entity. As for the timescale for that, I do not know.

SBU Executives were tasked with completing a business plan to run the org separately from VMware/Broadcom. All signs are pointing to a divestiture by VMware/Broadcom.
