Edeker Retirement Party

What’s everyone think about Randall Edekers 1million dollar Retirement party, the flowers alone were $100,000. They even bought him a $40,000 Rolex.. As an employee owner I do not approve of that. He burned the ships to the ground (relationships)... — read more

Accounting managers

Hyvee just silently took away the jobs of the accounting managers. They put all the work load of invoices and gave their hours to scanning. Scanning has enough to do. How low of hyvee. These people have been dedicated and worked all holidays and... — read more

2019 all over

Does anyone remember in 2019 right before Covid how bad our business was? It appears to me it's just like that now, if not worse. We have a BAD business model. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

New Accounting program?

Has anybody heard about the new accounting program coming to the retail stores and supposedly the stores won’t need a full time accounting person anymore…any Truth to this??

401k plan at HyVee is outdated.

I’ve always thought HyVee had a good 401k plan. News flash we don’t. HyVee retirement plan is under matched by HyVee. We need to demand a change for our 401k retirement. HyVee should at least match dollar for dollar up to 5%. That is about the... — read more

Why do you stay working for HyVee.

With all of the employees on here complaining about working for HyVee. I would like to know what keeps you working for them. I would like to hear some of the pro and cons of working for HyVee? I’ve left HyVee 5 years ago and it wasn’t easy. I loved... — read more

Crazy

Former customer here. I think hy vee management has lost their minds. Won't be doing anymore shopping here. What makes them think their products are worth more than their competitors? May want to come back down to earth, just a thought.

Debt load

Anyone know HyVee's debt load? That's how you'll be able to tell if they are moving South. Gotta think it's pretty high, considering they have to pay their share holders a 15% annual return.

"Best place to work in India"

Remember when Randy said he wanted to make Hy-Vee "The best place to work in America"? Then why is every IT position that opens up now being filled by positions in India? Someone at HST quits or retires, and leadership pushes to backfill in India... — read more

End of fiscal

Can't wait to see the numbers for our year end fiscal close this month. I'm a little nervous wondering what kind of knee jerk reaction corporates going to make.

401k match

Target matches 5%, Walmart matches 6%. Really sad that the "Best place to work in America" (eye roll) is only matching half of 7% (3.5%).

Time for a union

UAW is making major gains with the big 3 automakers. UPS workers won an amazing contract. Maybe it is time we unionize and start demanding a real share of the profits, not just the scraps they give us in bonus checks after the the executive suite... — read more

Potential store closings

I heard a rumor today from a vendor of hyvee that said that there are potential store closings on the horizon. I was wondering if anyone else heard the same thing or what stores are being talked about?

July numbers

I wonder how corporate will react if the July numbers are terrible especially with the indy car race coming up this weekend. At the store I work at there slashing labor faster than a ship sinking in the ocean.

2 new stores

Does anyone know how the 2 new huge stores are doing, Green Bay and Gretna? I'd be interested to know how the staffing is going. I know that good help is hard to find and HyVee is not known to pay for good help.

Maybe they think they are doing a great thing?

It wouldn't surprise me if corporates thought they're doing a great thing, while in reality, because of their decisions, this place is sinking deeper and deeper. Too many inflated egos.

Closing another store

Has anyone heard about the North Ottumwa hyvee closing at the end of the year?

I'm too tired to look for a job

Maybe this was their goal from the start. Cut enough people that those of us who are left are breaking our backs every day to the point where I can't even think about even going out anymore for fun, not to mention looking for another job. Like this... — read more
